  1. This is what I found when swapping from the TD05 16g to the VF8 . The VF housing was slightly shorter, not enough to be a major issue just a pain as I had to massage some of the exhaust hangers to give me some wiggle room with it.
  2. Ahh the days when STI actually meant a proper performance package. Now it seems to be some nice stitching and a lot of badges
  3. Or just swap the turbo and everything else to the other side.
  4. Just added my first sticker to the helmet in preparation for Flatnats. Also started giving the RS a Polish as I couldn't find the right tool on the first try and saw my polishing stuff so did that instead. A picture of my helmet
  5. Yip still up for grabs at the moment. If I didn't need to get onto the gear box so urgently then I would try again this week
  6. Popped by this location last night on the way to pick the kids up (well slightly off route but still on wayish) but they had the whole area blocked off with road cones as work was happening on the road!!!! Oh well I ended up with a nice pic for my next go at this.
  7. maybe I'm not driving it right😁 Will take it down the Waimak today and test it out some more.
  8. I just chuck mine in the dishwasher on a heavy duty cycle then half an hour in the dryer to finish them off😒
  9. Only BP sell 98 in the south Island to my knowledge. The best/last place to fill up would be BP Mashlands - Corner of Marshland and Prestons Road. Its just on 450 kms to Blenheim which has 98 as well. How big is the tank and whats your Average consumption? Might just make it
  10. It definitely understeers alot when cornering and by the time the system kicks in its too late. I'm wanting a bit more predictability when driving. It's fine for everyday driving but off road it's not so awesome. Will be driving a lot of shingle/riverstones/dirt roads over the summer so wanting something I have confidence in a bit more.
  11. I found a thread where people were putting VTD diff in and changing the split from 90:10 to 45:55. Seemed easy to do but are there issues that would come up? Apparently you can still run the same TCU. If this was a relatively easy swap it would be something I would like to do as I'm not as happy with it off road as I hoped and this is supposed to helphelp people http://www.toronto-subaru-club.com/forums/diy-write-ups-and-faq/184256-mpt-vtd-4eat-center-diff-conversion.html
  12. I was at Pickapart yesterday and saw an SVX sitting there. Looks to be almost completely intact. Leather interior in good condition apart from the drivers seat, looks to be a complete engine and drive train as well ass all the suspension etc. Anybody in Christchurch need spares?
  13. Yeah Im gutted I missed this too. Took some photos with my SLR and thats where the photos still sit - next year then
  14. @Conducks Have a look through here to make sure your car doesn't end up here
  15. Dam! That sucks balls. looks like it can be fixed though? no chassis damage?
  16. Haha I was basically going to say the same thing. At least with a Subaru people realize the driver knows what they are doing.
  17. Sorry mine is different This is my one It does look like there has been some arcing between them If you can make my one work you can have it for the price of postage (or if anyone wants it I will do for the price of postage)
  18. I have to put my hand up and say I used to be one of the druivers that sat in the Right lane (usaully sitting between 100 - 110kph). But I did not realize the right hand lane rules. Now I sit in the left lane unless passing, exception is where there are merging areas in the left lane, I like to move to the right to allow easier merging. Oh yes another thing I have complained about is the merge like a zip, a lot of people must use Velcro as they do not seem to know how zips work. Theres always one guy who speeds up from behind to try and get infront of you even when the lanes have merged
  19. My favorite is the right hand lane drivers who sit there all day long until right before the turn off where they indicated for 1 second then cut right across you to take the left hand exit!!happens all the time on the Northern motorway around the Kaiapoi or Rangiora extits
  20. I don't have any issues in the outback - no one gives it a second look (at some intersections not even a first look!) I think its the generalization of WRX drivers as young and dumb and out to cause trouble, so they see one and they just go straight to their stereotype. Some Subaru drivers do not hep the stereotype though
  21. You just reminded me of something similar on the wife's car. I'm it was arcing between the end of the lead and the spark plug. Would run fine at idle and low revs but when you gout up in the Rev range it would cause problems. Took a while to work that one out.
  22. Not as much as they want. Maybe 4-5k if it was really immaculate and had full service history
