  2. so its only comming on the onset of boost and then becomes fine?? i have a bigger tmic if u wana ever upgrade
  3. if its load only then cud be coil/spark does it surge all the way till redline or only between certain rpm? also an important question if u dont load it and just as smoothly get the rpm up, does it do it - like maybe downhill boosting lol
  4. here is hoping for a good result.. also see how much boost does it surge at? is it only 3rd gear at that same boos/rpm? can u repeat it in say uphill or flat? basically get more info on when it happens?
  5. a running scan is better than a static scan tbh if u were in auckland we could have met up and done a bit of logging etc.. plz dont throw sensors at it in hopes of fixing as thats just a very expensive way to fix things and sadly true that a lot of the workshops will do that pisses me off at times when i hear of such stories u cud try afm cleaner in the meantime..usually works if its minor dust issues...not that uncommon...
  6. never heard of surge on stock tune in the ones i have done same setup stock vs tuned setup and the tuned one had some surge appear ...scared the hell outta me and we just backed it off a bit
  7. i have seen the bov open on partial throttle comming on boost in some situations (that was on my old v7 sti with a gfb 50/50) - with partial throttle i cud get bov to open in certain type pulls ...once we tightened the spring a bit it didnt also that was trying to make it happen and didnt just happen on regular driving but OP didnt say what sorta driving or throttle % usage when this happens also yea cud be surge as but that only happened on some fmic ones with open exhaust ones that i have seen (and only after a bit of tune - didnt happen on stock tune tho)
  8. stock boost? does the engine check light come on? try filling 98 and see if does the same? can u tighten the bov (if adjustable) and retry?
  9. or drive on well worn linglong tires so u never have enough grip to do any damage and as such drive a lot slower all around lol

  11. looks like what i saw made by a well known workshop - only that was neater but same concept of welding 10million pieces to make a manifold was shocked at the time

  14. put a walbro 500 at the least in there and run as much gas as u can really i have never run less than 1/2 on track days despite the whole thing weighing bit more
  15. did the vf30 really offer better lo end than the vf23?
  16. really i wud have imagined the 23 having better low end than the 30.... never compared them back to back unfortunately but ur insight points as the vf30 being better than a vf23 ?? maybe more into quicker spool and mid range rather than outright top end.. max 210kw@w on whichever it ends up to be...
  17. On a front mount setup and tuned to suit say running 20psi What Wud u prefer? The vf23 wu have better low end and mid and should match the vf30 almost for top end?
  18. Front top hat is same Rear is different Also break line mounting is different on the 2 models But it\'s all rather easy to fit in between the models
  19. yep thats the one the guy i got it off said was a gt3076 here\'s hoping it is (cant really trust trademe these days i wonder at times)

  21. tru tru hmm well stop making such sporty aspiration claims if they cant really stant to the trashing OR simply build them with more locks in place - i mean lower speed limits in place\ g sensor to cut power when accelerating hard and connering hard extra limp mode when get slightly hot basically box in the performance so that at the hint of over-use the ecu cuts al the fun easy! then the buys will only buy cars that they can thrash so other can either man up and offer warrenty or just shut shop and only sell kei cars,, lol cant believe im saying all this
  22. thats what im saying makers sell stuff thats advertised as able to do this they get magzines to test them on the track etc we read abt their track potential and then finally buy one only to know its just a poofter/ladyboy basically looks the part and makes the right noises but really u cant enjoy it like u had intended when you originally bought it
