  1. Yep I think your right, but the expensive stuff is out of the way, just fine tuning from here, I think haha. At least im not paying someone to do all the fluffing around, and its still daily driven
  2. I was thinking about going to 215 45 17\'s next time round, mostly to bring my revs down at 100km, it should help turbo spool a little running a bigger rolling diameter in theory too.
  3. if a blade comes apart it\'ll end up wedged in your intercooler and you\'ll end up needing to replace that as well
  4. Did some DIY tuning on my car today with my temporary vf36p20 turbo, it was running into the low 10:1 AFR\'s at WOT so I leaned it out a bit up top. Not too sure if the AFR\'s are ok coming on boost, between 13.5:1 and 11:1, but I run a G4 knock link and haven\'t seen any knock so I guess its all good. Just wanted to see the difference between my modified VF turbo and a factory one before I go to twin scroll with the modified one. Still trying to figure out how I want it to perform. My modified one was lacking a little response down low but pulled hard to redline, but the vf36p20 has the response I like but falls off up top. Im hoping twin scroll on my modified turbo will get the best of both.
  5. Pitstop or midas will sell a new fibre ring
  6. what is 23 for? I know on my v5 when it was running the factory ECU I had codes for AFM and they ended up being caused by a faulty engine coolant temp sensor, as they share the same power feed
  7. what sensor? and was it an experienced subaru mechanic? sometimes subaru\'s throw faults that say one thing but its another sensor causing the problem. something to be wary about if it turns into an on going problem.
  8. and you need to keep a log book logging your driving hours. You\'ll need commercial insurance, if you have a crash and use one of your "passengers" as a witness and they mention to the insurance company they were paying for your services you wont get paid out. IMO sweet as if its a "now and then" thing, but if your planning on do it full time you\'ll get caught

    FMIC fan?

Yep, I had mine working on my old setup on the FMIC, just drilled holes for the nozzles they work fine. Didn\'t bother once my engine was rebuilt as I run a G4 and it was safely tuned for my set up
  10. are your tuned headers this type http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/other/auction-551132132.htm they are bad for leaking at the flange, if so you need to replace the fiber donut in the join
  11. I thought it ment he was in park? ;D
  12. < grammar police enter the room> B R A K E as you were ;D

    FMIC fan?

FYI I just did some logging with my temporary turbo and intake temps on my FMIC were 30 degrees (10 above ambient) but didnt really move with some 4th gear pulls
  14. Thats good numbers off a chinese turbo, will be interesting to see how it lasts
  15. I wasn\'t happy with the response of my modified turbo (VF36P20 with an 18G compressor) so bought myself a low km VF36 from Subworx, just put the front half on my car with my P20 as a temporary measure while I round up my twin scroll bits. Pulled my modified turbo front half off and bolted it to the P25 housing, hopefully I\'ll pick up more response down low with it once im done. If im still not happy I\'ll just run the VF36. Look how mint that exhaust housing is, its still shiney!! Its pretty much a PE1825 clone now, I think its a similar turbo to what Rych\'s spec C was running when it did the 10 second run
  16. dont get confused, front pipe is more of an american term, he has a sard downpipe, and the size of the downpipe wont effect much, he hasn\'t replaced the factory up pipe. wait till its tuned to see what you think

    FMIC fan?

If you dont like it, dont read it. and in his defence he has modified his car and had it tuned. people lean shit from these threads. Ive learnt so much from threads like this.

    FMIC fan?

but water works 4 times better than air at transferring heat, so if your resivour is big enough and exchanger is effecient enough it will always work well. PRO\'s and CON\'s for any intercooler setup though.
  19. does it shock load sideways on the bearings if it ignites in the housing?
