  1. I don't even ski or board. Go up purely for the drive.
  2. Try firestone glenn innes, we've done a group buy there before, and they have done a bit of business with us. They may give a slight discount.
  3. Don't forget that auto's come with the EJ20H (with grey injectors etc), not EJ20R. They also have a 1-plug loom making it next to impossible to mess with ECU's or single convert. Would suit nicelt as a daily that you wouldn't mess with, and the EJ20H's are damned reliable engines, polar opposites to the pop a big end every tuesday EJ20R.
  4. 89 RS's have chokes? News to me. I thought they were a carbie thing. Sorry, that was mean. Mate, your car doesn't have a choke. You're probably right in thinking it's the ICV, maybe give it a clean out (i always suggest new seals etc, but people always winge about the immensly ordinary price), and def run some upper engine cleaner. And don't forget these cars are 20 years old. Do you use a 20 year old PC at home? The ecu's have a definite personality, and are focused on running the engine, not on idling like a modern merc.
  5. May as well stop beating around the bush and just single turb if you want to mess with boost like that.
  6. Waste of time, TS-R, 250T and GT are all much of a muchness, they are all what i consider 'GT Trim' anyway (i don't know what the official term would be). Now if you had a GTB, then yeah, bilsteins would be an upgrade.
  7. Ooooo, this for frank is it? Nice! Next up... should be a MANUAL
  8. Aw s***, last pic is on the RC car track at North Harbour Stadium. ****ing shore girls
  9. Phase 2 was introduced in 98, with the V5's, and BE/BH's. Stoffer here is talking 96-98 block, with 93-96 heads. All phase 1 afiak, unless phase 1 (aka, master 4) was introduced in 96... In which case it'd be pre and post master 4.
  10. Woops! You got the purple blue bumper, on your blue car. There's like 50 different blues for the BH, it's bloody annoying. Also, you have face lift wheels, can't have that missmatch going on, give them to me.
  11. I reckon fuel pump relay too, handy if you ever get a fuel line rupture too (Has happened).
  12. The early 20H's are an odd one. They are 93-96 generation, so are actually same generation as the V1/2 EJ20G's, but i'm sure they must be different, just no idea how different, or what's different. But for example, they have a V3/4 style intercooler and intake manifold, and under manifold turbo intake etc, despite being made from 93 on. So i think there's a mix'n'match of new and old tech in them. If i had to guess, i'd say they are actually closer to the V3/4 20G's, but that is just a guess. In short, they are weird, and no i don't know what HG you need to use.
  13. Does it have a pod filter? (funny question, i know, but they have caused similar problems in past) And does secondary have a wastegate? only some TT's have a secondary wastegate, and i'm not sure how they work as i've only seen documentation on the 'non secondary wastegate' cars. If it does have a wastegate, maybe it's just running gate pressure.
  14. Bazza i didn't know you had a BD, closet TT owener eh? Tisc tisc. Garryg, let us know what boost it's running when that gauge is fitted. Expect anything between 10 and 12 psi i think.
  15. Mate, stop worring bout it, give it a right ol rape and thrash it, that's why we own subies, and not little corola's (Heck, I even thrash my mums mirage when i drive it, they need a good italian tune up once in a while)
  16. Rev D's have tunable ECU's. Talk to SpotME, he's just had this done.
  17. Don't forget the immense ricer tax if it's a sedan.
  18. Yeah, BE/BH's are damn good on gas. If trying to better that is your motivation for a single turbo conversion, forget it, leave the car stock. They are damn good cars as is. Single turbo will likely increase fuel usage (WRX and STi ecu's care less for economy than legacy ECU's, i can assure you of that). The main idea behind it is to basically to get a normal boost curve and kill vod, so you can properly kane it the bastard. It's also to open the car up to future potential engine mods that add power, not increase efficiency.
  19. Can be done with a ratcheting 12mm spanner, that's how I took mine off when I did my engine.
  20. We've all been there before, you don't want to sell your precious, or maybe think it's cheaper to convert. But at the end of the day you just gotta let the old one go, and buy a turbo car. I asked the same question years ago, but then found my GTB.
  21. Thats mint. love that colour with black wheels Is that a factory colour for the bl/bp? Factory in America at least. what caught my attention was actually the bumber. Never seen one like it, don't know if it's aftermarket, or low end or what, but it looks damn smooth on that car. Edit, i see now, it's a heavily modified GTB bumper.
