1. +1 to single turbo. But yeah, just use subaru bearings, they are good. I've been told more than once; far far better than ACL bearings, and far more expensive.. DON'T go cheap on parts, use genuine parts where possible.
2. Hey guy's. Saw this in the paper today: http://www.queenstowncarshow.co.nz/event/ Looks good, I'll defintelly be there taking photo's, and I've entered for the friday night cruise around the wakatipu basin. Would be great to see some Clubsubers come to the event!
3. $250-300, yep. And no, you don't need to change top hats. What you need to do is get some spacers. You also need camper bolts or the rears. But, it's WELL worth doing, I love mine.
4. Works the same yes, but is largely a waste of time in auto BH's and BH5D's. They handle TT pretty well, the biggest effect you get is on manual BG's, which are utterly useless with TT.
5. Bump. We need an official megameet sticky up in general or events.
6. I remember fishing out at that island years ago, had a wee dingy on the trailer off the back of my old LX. Good times.
7. Lol, drop all that cash on a DSLR, and you still go use the smart phone They are pretty good though, you've seen what i can make my wee one do
8. I am determined to go along, I haven't missed one yet. But hey hey, what's new? No moneys! This time round it's the flying draining my accounts. I just dropped a sum of money on a used DSLR, and need lenses for it. I'll keep putting money aside each week and see how it goes, be it flying up and hitching a ride down, or driving up, I will be there.
9. Too dark? It's never too dark to take photo's!
10. Oh!!! I got it! Single convert, that'll kill the CEL dead in it's tracks! I'm a genius.
11. Well, you say that, but i can see it does have something in common with older imprezas, now, actually... It's getting very close and intimate to the legacy lineage once more!!! Those wheel arches are straight off that behemoth they are calling a 'mid sized' sedan/wagon.
12. This. I supposed they have realised the impreza is not a hatchback first, and sedan second though. What's the bet it will weigh over 1600kg
13. Yup, and then when a new fault code pops up, you'll have no idea. Sweet.
14. Yeah, theres 3 main types of 20G, the fozzy ones resemble a 20K, but just carry the 20G badge. Depending on the year foz, it'll be a phase 1 or 2 engine. I think only the SF5A was a phase 1, then they went to the EJ205 V5/6 engine. The BG5A is a phase 1, meaning you are basically stuck with the SF5A EJ20G and ECU, though it does have a different loom (TT 4-plug, so you need to repin, as koom pointed out)... You can convert to phase 2, but it's an arse of a job i think, it will be harder than just re-pinning.
15. And ODB off on one of you little side tracks again. You could just not bother, I'm sure everyone would be happier for it. And I am as to no illusion of the handling and weight difference between legacy's and imprezas, and evo's etc. Just to make that perfectly clear. Nothing beats road/track/car knowledge though, simple as that.
16. Speaking of which, this GEM popped up in a thread i started on NASIOC a few days ago. Nice to know now all americans chuck their old cars in the tip the moment a new model is out. There was also a EJ20G'd one, but didn't look so nice.
17. Pfft, for you slack c**t's maybe! That's not how I roll, only had 1 CEL in 3 years, with single conversion and all, and it was only cause I left the o2 sensor unplugged for a week.
18. I'm embarrased to drive a subaru when... when.... Hmm, I never am. Heh. And I never have an issue with rolling up next to an Evo. I know I have equal performance to a stock evo 8, yet have all the room in the back for whatever you can think of.
19. But why? You've hardly had the car a long time, and done so much work to it!
http://a.imageshack.us/img181/6306/dsc09221.jpg[/img] Haha, mint. And whatever happened to the mudflaps? The car looked badass with em on. You car is def one of my favorite subies, I gotta say.
20. You def want to upgrade the shocks when you lower like subypower here btw. Having stiff springs, but old boaty TS-R shocks is a recipe for fail.
