  1. Absolutely. Wish I could spend $$$$$ on my car and not bother with a mortgage or bills
  2. Why? Do it to an old banger but why wreck a prefectly good $65k+ car?
  3. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2017/09/subaru-drops-two-sti-awesome-models-japan.html JDM only unfortunately
  4. Off topic, but in respect of KFC in above location - http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11926461
  5. Ah, makes sense. Guess your mind is a little more pure than mine
  6. Not sure if this is in the correct thread, but not sure where else it could go (please move mods if applicable). Saw this van driving through Massey today and am at a loss as to what the rego plate is meant to mean I'm sure it's perfectly innocent
  7. Old: Fort Sreet New: Just realised I cropped out the name of the yacht business Can't make it too easy
  8. Couldn't imagine driving with a CVT. My old B4 RSK had an auto box and it ruined the car. Big reason I went for my STi was the 6 speed manual. Seems that manuals are a dying breed of late.... Wonder how many current gen STis have been sold? Can't remember the last time I saw another on the road (tbough a work colleague has one I see in the car park).
  9. LOL When you have to put the window down to access the ticket machine when leaving the car park at work
  10. Rain guards, to be fair, are useful. If you have water on the roof and go round a corner with tbe window down, it tends to pour in So they are a good idea and practical. However, the light bar is anotber thing. More suited to a Honda I feel
  11. No! Look at the Car Crimes thread in the General Car Section
  12. I can see your STi ending up in the car crimes thread at this rate
  13. Agreed. Interesting that I observed driving attitudes in Italy recently and while they are mostly maniacs (seemingly little regard for road rules), the level of aggression is nowhere near as it is in NZ. Sure there was the odd gesticulation and beeping of horns, but I certainly didn't see the attitudes that are becoming the norm over here. Not sure what is going on, but the behaviour described above by @Batbaruman is certainly getting worseand agree it's not just Subaru related. There are plenty of other performance cars out there driven by youngsters who probably feel the same. Trouble is that the minority who drive like cocks spoil it for the majority who don't. Everyone tends to get tarnished with the same brush. As an STi driver, that includes me too even though I'm an old git
  14. Not sure if this is meant to increase or decrease the chance of flying
  15. I used to have WRC GT-FOUR a few years ago. Only 5 new models were brought into NZ by Toyota (got mine 2nd hand). From memory, only visible external xifferences between ST205 and ST202 were the wheels (awful tri-spokes!), rear wing and bonnet. Easy to spot a fake from the rear due to different spare wheel well due to rear diff on the GT.
  16. What about insurance costs? Worth taking those into account too.
  17. One of the first things I did when I bought my STi was put on a set of RA mudflaps. Agree they are not the cheapest out there but you certainly get good quality.
  18. Got back at 4am Sunday and greeted by an absolutely freezing Auckland morning. A real shock to the system after temps in the mid 30s most days Still didn't see any STis during our travels, but the Police in Rome seemed to have a few subbies inc this one I managed to snap.. It's good to be back and driving the STi again Oh, and believe it or not, only saw one Ferrari in Italy. This little cracker in Florence...
  19. Got talking to one of our tour guides in Sicily who is into cars. He says he knows of no STis in Sicily at all. Have seen some modded cars with big exhausts, but not many. Lots of bikes - especially around Mt Etna. There is an awesome winding road up the mountain where the bikers ride like absolute nutters up and down as if it were a race track. Perfect road for an STi!!!! So far, anywhere in Italy they drive like nutters all the time. Road rules are to be ignored and crossing a road, even at a crossing, is like a game of chicken. As for parking. Anywhere goes. Crossings, corners, pavement, etc. And so often you see them reversing into a space and they know tbey are far enough back when they nudge the car behind. Then go forward and nudge the car in front. Mad. Only cars in Sicily witbout dents are tbose in new car showrooms!!!!
