  1. chuck the screenshot up if you can, might be easier for us to identify the owner based on pic of car rather than plate
  2. haha yeah its excessively high and only at certain RPM, i wasn't paying enough attention in physics obvs but it's some S*** to do with resonating at certain wavelength/frequency i guess where sound bounces inside cabin and volume goes nuts. if i record it from outside it actually sounds pretty amazing , still loud but not loud enough to be pulled over for. also will be good to finally see you and your RS running bro, have seen thunda twice at pbms/ajays but she was always asleep!
  3. you get one with a yearly subscription which is $20 and helps support the club/this site : http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php?/store/category/1-subscriptions/ i dunno if it's normal but i also got a free dominoes pizza voucher with mine. otherwise can also buy stickers or other clubsub merchanidse here : http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php?/store/
  4. aw forgot how clean it looked before. currently sticker overload . 2 x clubsub stickers even!
  5. yo @Subru you got this one ay? http://driftsideracing.co.nz/aem-electronics/performance-fuel-pump/aem-fuel-pump-50-1000.html did you ask for some subaru kit or something when purchased or just bought it off site like that? glad to see that it can be made to fit either way. also what fuel sock was bigger, the one that came with this or the factory one?
  6. interesting, i think i know where this is.. but how the heck did you get in that area haha
  7. LOL true! what i want out of the car changes too often. i never been this impulsive with finances before, i swear anything else overthink and procrastinate it but with the car i'm absolutely mental which is partially why i wanted to get rid of it recently as anything i do with it only makes me happy for a couple weeks at most (or even on the drive home from shop) before i somehow need to do more. a lot of these performance mods are a bit of a pipe dream (new turbo, headers, engine rebuild, e85). im gonna start prebooking some travel next year and i won't have money to waste on car anymore. the noise fix stuff (fuel pump, exhaust) is definitely happening and i will probably find (i hope) that after i take care of these super annoying things that my level of enjoyment with car becomes like what i had with my old car. desire to keep changing things will hopefully just go away as it's a lot easier to be happy with a car that doesn't give you a headache every time you drive. "if it's this noisy then it needs to atleast be fast enough to match this bloody noise" - i think thats whats going on inside my brain, but heck i'll see a psychiatrist if i have to if i keep having these impulses LOL. is there a car modding addict support group? . had decibel meter inside car other day, it hit 105db peak in cabin on cruise (not from my basic sound system!). F***ing lawnmower is around that same so i think im on to something now.
  8. yeah bro thats generally my idea hence dont usually buy cheap junk in the car with exception of things i know i'll be changing next year when i go e85. trying to source that same model pump you have. nz performance said their one isn't compatible so i'm asking around a few other shops. definately want aeromotive stealth drop in one if i can get it, otherwise will end up getting dw300 which am a bit skeptical about as their reputation isnt too great. Talking with GSS performance about the fuel sock / surge sponge which Ajay is recommending .
  9. so much mixed info out there, many say its common and others say its not including fellow v7 owners. i think the thing that comes up time and time again is the thing about the fuel sock, and i think i remember you saying you are using the stock one too as THNSTi mentioned above, i'll prioritise finding the right sock then and probably leave the slosh mod. kinda at a point where i need to start making the build easier for maintenance sake rather than more complex ay, haha.
  10. oh well the new ones i got have a lifetime warranty and do feel a hell of a lot sturdier than the old ones. all this stuf will be pulled out eventually anyway when i go flex fuel because will need them teflon lines for e85. when i do that big purchase it'll all be the recommended speedflow stuff
  11. awesome, messaged you about the tank - thanks After you added the fuel sock did you end up keeping the fuel slosh mod in place also? Ajay just recommended me to find a surge sponge so I'm looking for that too from GSS edit : oh and by the way @TNHSTI what size tank did you end up comfortably fitting in to the v7 STI? 26oz or 32oz?
  12. edit : decided not to do this, will find the right surge sock / sponge instead. feel free to share your experiences anyway if you have them Finally removing my surge tank / external fuel pump - yes very excited not to deal with that crappy noise Slight paranoia kicks in thinking that my car is prone to surge on tight corners when under half a tank full... is this even an issue if I'm not on a track? Anyway to curb that paranoia somewhat I found this really cheap/easy looking mod. Fuel slosh mod as linked here : http://www.ludicrous-speed.com/wiki/index.php?title=Shanes_impreza_fuel_slosh_mod Has anyone done this before? I imagine the part (if i could find it) would be super cheap and because it's so easy, i can't imagine it not being worth it.. seems more or less to replicate the rally version or was it spec c edition anti surge internal tank setup, except the genuine part is $1200ish. Appreciate any feedback from anyone who has done this before or might know where to get the plane fuel tank part, couldn't find it on trademe. Below pics all credit to the article / poster linked above. More pics here http://www.ludicrous-speed.com/g2/main.php/v/OurRides/ShanesRide/mods/06-FuelSurgeTank/
  13. im guessing wastegate solenoid error, or is there actually a wastegate sensor? can you please ask them what they did to fix it and what the error code was / is? other than those lights which come on, how does it drive , does it feel like you are getting different kind of boost than usual?
  14. Do what ya gotta do bro but idk why would pay to advertise random company / Tyre when it could instead be something more personalised... Way I see it it's kinda like a tattoo going on your car. Not permanent but still kinda wierd. Then again I'm not exactly down with the cool / hip crowd just my 2c that your nicknamename / cars nick / future plate name would be so much cooler !
  15. so after i had sorted that right side out, the very next day the left side decided to sprout a leak. sorted that out today. i have this is not a recurring theme otherwise my bank account is gonna be empty by the time im done replacing all the an fittings in this car : S
  16. Nice pics, happy birthday for yesterday
  17. Did they give you an error code? What did they do to remediate issue? Or did they simple clear the error and send you on your way?
  18. bugger didnt save psd version of last one so had to redo it lol, slightly less bright. i reckon itll look awesome with both but personally wouldn't be too keen on adding that kind of cost unless tyres will last you ages, as essentially you are turning $150 tyres in to $200 tyres. its surprising how good the stock rims can look in white, almost makes me regret swapping away mine !
  19. arent all in tank ones pretty quiet? could you hear the stock one?
  20. just a quickie... is expensive just for looks but is your car do what you like.i think it can suit any blue or red subi
  21. ohh man thats a shitload to spend just on generic tyre lettering, print your forum name on there and have fun explaining to people why its subru and not subaru haha
  22. yeah i have a bunch of lettering pens in from ebay a while back when was considering.. after reading about how high maintenance it would be once applied i gave up on that idea. theres a few tyre shops now that do them stickers for $2 or $3 a letter installed.
  23. this was both easier than i thought and more annoying than i thought to change. at least no more fuel leaks (that i know of).
