Is yours a JDM import or a NZ Legacy? Because Subaru NZ don't want to know about JDM, and refuse to acknowledge that it is a defect, even though US and Aus are going through the same issue and Subaru in their country have acknowledged it. So since today is a hot day, my white dash as now transitioned into a sticky, melting plastic causing glare on the windscreen, the entire length of the dash is sticky. I have only been driving out in the Sun for 15mins.

Thanks might try it out, I haven't used anything yet. Do you use it? I was trying to get Subaru NZ to atleast acknowledge an issue, however they stated since mine is a JDM no wty here. Fair enough however they are the Subaru/FHI representative for NZ, so SHOULD be able to get something out of FHI Japan in terms of atleast a response, or next steps etc, but so far I've been brick walled. I'd probably even be willing to pay between ($500-$1000) for a replacement dash if Subaru even came to the party with a discounted offer. Mine is garaged and when I drive it to work I park in an underground carpark. Hardly ever leave in direct sunlight.

Guys Subaru NZ said they never heard of this issue with the NZ models, do any of you have a NZ model legacy that is affected? Let me know, or even better contact Subaru NZ and let them know. I can't let this go since it ruins my Subaru's internal looks, I don't do any mods to my car I am satisfied with it and it's exterior looks. However this issue really bugs me and is in my face everyday, it's embarrassing taking passengers in my Subaru. Since I have a JDM it's going to be hard to get anything done. I purchased my car from Winger Northshore. If it was a defect that wasn't in plain sight, I might not have minded an much. FFS Subaru!.. This is where we get F***** by imports, not sure what Subaru NZ will do to help probably jackshit. I purchased the car from Winger but it's an import. Hi, wondering if someone can help with suggestions on what do to, my Legacy's Dash seems to have this white colour fading occuring. I have a 2006 Legacy Spec B, cloth trim. I am not sure what I should put on to get rid of it, It's like a previous coating of something is coming off i.e. Amourall or something similar? I haven't sprayed or wiped anything on the dash since I've had it, maybe the previous owner did. I am not sure what material the dash is, I am assuming its some sort or plastic or fake leather? Feels like leather, but my car is a cloth trim. Here are some pics.

Thanks, you don't need the adapter anymore with the new Kenwood units, just need to locate the 3 SWC wires and connect them up. The Kenwood has a learning function for the the steering buttons. I got one of the new carplay units the Kenwood DDX9016DABS, and Kenwood have changed the harness to a longer single plug with 20 pins instead of the 16 on all the ISO harnesses. The 20pin harness that comes with the stereo has bare wires for connection to vehicle harness. So I just got a 20 pin Subaru ISO Harness, and will cut of the ISO end and wire it up. But I cannot find the following pins on the Subaru harness, Steering remote gnd, steering remote input 1, steering remote input 2. Reverse, and parking sw, any idea where these are on the radio wiring harness in the legacy? I have a 2006 BL Legacy, which had a Kenwood GX-204JE factory unit, which has steering wheel remote. I am late to this, but gutted for you, any news? I think you should def hit up AVS and take them to the disputes tribunal, $25 filing fee, no lawyers. You should hit em up for their bull**** tracking system, and continuing to charge you, so ask for full refund. Someone needs to standup and take them through this to make them realise consumers can't be dicked around, Consumer law in NZ means their T&C's don't mean jack sh1t..so please do it.

So 2 BP's in Auckland have introduced 95 Plus blend, which is apparently a 70% 98 and 30% 91 mixed at the time of pumping via their new pumps. I think it's is about 7-8c cheaper than 98 Octane it self. I've been solely running my Legacy on 98, but think I might switch to this 95plus blend. Any thoughts/advice if it will be bad for my engine?

Ok just done this, works fine, however mine didn't do anything if at step 3 you leave it on Acc. I had to leave it on "ON. I don't however get the soft chirps when locking/unlocking with remote. Is there another method to enable this? Talking about features, does anyone elses fuel monitor inaccurate? i.e. when I'm on low (indicator is just a bit over the last bar) it will display 40Km left, if I keep driving it will always go from 40km to --, I've never seen it display 10 - 30km..

Hi I\'m not particularly fond of the cloth seats in my 06 Legacy specB. Would like to change to either half leather /alcantara or a leather -retrim? I have factory tints in the rear on my BL. Am having front tints installed by tintacar, have a choice of midnight express and their new Octane tint. Anyone know which is best match tot eh factory tints? I have been told different things about their Octane tint.

I've been told 16cm front and 13cm rear doors. I assume 6.5" front and 5.25" rear will fit with spacers.

Can you fit 6.5" all round on a JDM BL5? Getting mixed answers on the rears.
