  1. from what i've been hearing... the injectors on a standard WRX are blues... and they should be fine... if you're maxing them out, you're prolly also stressing your block/internals too much..
  2. good points to be had here from pappu.. after getting heaps of advice with the good guys that came to MM as well.. am saving up for a larger turbo. currently looking at the VF30. Have sussed out the exhaust, intake and STi TMIC with y-pipe... just needs a bigger blower.. the td04 is said to be good to pick up.. but runs out of puff way too quickly.. at the track, I was having to shift at 6 rather than the redline at 7, as there was just no usable power...
  3. lol.. gonna be there later this evening... *shakytown here i come*
  4. carfolie... check out the sponsors section.. got my tints done there..
  5. Lol. Yeah. Very simple fix with soldering iron. Just heat up that joint. Wick up the solder with soldering wick. (solder sucker pumps are too dangerous for SMDs). Then put some fresh solder on and ensure proper contact.
  6. Not entirely sure so don't quote me on this. But I'll drop my 2 cents. You have a point with weight being the issue. Bear in mind that GD chassis is heavier compared to GC. Also the rear struts on the GDs are apparently a lot longer than on the GC hence the difference in height.
  7. Double facepalm. Plus. Lowering your car to get camber will do all sorts of unpredictable things to your roll geometry. Don't think that would be of any concern to you though.
  8. yeah.. not the tripometer.. just the clock... so far.. 3x bug-eyes... including mine.. that i know have had clock problems.. its resistor 510 on the clock PCB that gets the dry joint.
  9. hmm.. not that I actually made it a point to note the feel of the pagids... they will not get up to their full potential when driving on the street but will still do your normal commute braking easily. on the track, after warming them up a bit, they were rather good.. from what I gather, they are a rather soft compound, so they go easy on your rotors and hence, a shorter lifetime compared to the harder compounds..
  10. based on what I have on my car at the moment. can confirm that 4-pots mate with 294 mm rotors.. after the weekend, I'm stoked as the upgrade to 4-pots has definitely been worthwhile.. don't think I'd have half as much fun if I still had the 2-pots on there.. big improvement in brake torque... can't comment too much on heat as I was running non-OEM rotors.. the RBF600 fluid held up well, and had no fade (if not little) at all the whole day.. Pads wise, I was initially recommended to go with the TS2000 for the 2-pot fronts.. but was then changed to Pagid Blues for the 4-pots instead.. yes, possibly the most overlooked parts of a car. everyone wants speed and power, but forgets that you need to have a stable car that stops well to enjoy that power...
  11. with enough power... decent brakes or balls.. you could hit that easy down the back straight..
  12. not sure if legacys use the same clock electronics as the WRXs but i know the GD chasis clocks have a manufacturing defect with one resistor developing a dry joint.
  13. http://web.me.com/hschlangmann/LapTimer_Homepage/Products.html might try this one out!
  14. not much point.. its gonna get dusty and dirty from the drive up/down anyways.. =\
  15. would've taken a falconer's glove to get it in the cage!
  16. else comes the litter box hunting, food buying and fur everywhere.. ><
  17. my factory downpipe had a cat on it.. the one i just put in doesn't..
  18. hmmm.. emissions testing? i reckon i should keep my factory downpipe then?
  19. yup.. factory tinted glass.. its not actually a film. the tint is in the glass itself.. it is only legal if it came from factory like that. cops/warrant peeps look for the 'Subaru OK' logo to confirm its factory.. I know some Subbies come with a light tint on the front windows.. not sure how dark though..
  20. most would advise you to get a decent brand BOV.. rather than cheapies.. and have them last rather than costing you more money in the long run to replace..
  21. love the colour!! red and gold brembos... niceee you have to post up the next picture too!
  22. not sure about factory tints.. i know some export models do not come with factory tinted glass... only JDM import ones.. you could rock up to any on-road or VTNZ station.. i'm sure they have a VLTM they can measure it with..
  23. what about your parents house(lol? ) each time ive had noowhere ive used thier drive ways haha yeah.. no next of kin in Auckland... wash world is good.. but i normally spend quite a bit of time to do it right.. you never know how much dirt has been through the sponges... etc... and i always end up spending quite a bit more than you normally would.. if i had my own driveway, (ie back in chch).. would take me all afternoon for a wash, wax, and detail after... give it the whole day for clay bar, polish, and wax... for now.. can't wait for my box of car products to arrive in Auckland from chch.. anyone know where i can get autoglym stuff here?
