Appreciate all your responses thank you. Yes, looks like the Bluetooth hijacks the clarion bus interface since they made them for McIntosh.

I've picked up a shallow mount pioneer sub for the gap. Have been considering a high-low level converter for a new sub amp, but found my front speakers are shot. Replacing those hits issues on impedance (4ohm vs 8) and potential crossover issues if I drop in components and the stock amp is also filtering the signal before the crossovers. I'm going to have a crack at completely redoing the system if anyone is interested in the details, tapping into stock speaker wiring etc.

We love pictures showing progress here :) Sounds like you've got some fun on your hands!

Tried ez lip on mine. Lasted a few days and then it had a massive rip on each corner as I have to go up some crazy driveways sometimes and even tho I didnt hear/feel anything it must have been enough to catch the lip and make a rip. Never gonna buy one again. Did look pretty cool tho.

I'm planning on removing the poly lip on the Version 8 and replacing it with EZlip as it scrapes too often than I like and my bumper is now cracking :(

I'd say you'll probably be good with maybe just a roll in the rear. My wheels are sitting wider with the sedan track width and I still think there is room for an 8 inch wide wheel in there with the rear guards rolled. It all depends on the offset.

Was looking at +35 offset to hopefully clear Brembo's if I go that route in future, but tbh it would just be more cosmetic so I could drop back to +45

If you are running the be/bh style sti wagon gold's, those are 7 inch.

The diverging spoke "v7" wheels people bang on about are 7.5 wide.

I know of people running up to an 8.5 18 inch rims in the states, but they do a fair whack of guard rolling.

I know you can fit 17x8 +48's (the v9/10 enkei rim size) without too much issue

Crappppp. I am looking at going 18x8.5 on STi struts and Pink springs on my wagon and what I had been looking up it was looking I could get away with that, ah well.

  5. So I have not really driven my Version 8 much over the past 6 months, hence nothing really been done to it.

But today I (finally) dropped off my Pink injectors off to Vantage Auto to be flow tested, cleaned and have new O-Rings installed. Yes I will FINALLY be on track to install the VF30, 3 port solenoid and a retune :) Not looking for more power, just a more responsive set up.

is the rear really sitting lower if you measure from ground to jack points?  my front and back are equal height from ground to chassis but arch gap is quite a lot greater up front than in the rear, though this might just be a bugeye design issue (or intential, dunno)

I should get off my butt and check, but I think you're right, it's just how the arches are designed which gives it that look

Think I saw @Timmah in Christchurch today/Saturday out towards the motorway around midday ish. I waved at you but I'm not sure if you saw me. Wagon looked tidy anyway ;)

Sorry man, that wasn't me, my Wagon was parked up in the garage. I have heard there are two other Version 8 wagon's in silver floating around though.

Bought a baffled sump, drove her a bit, damn i'm enjoying the drive now, all the work i've done is paying dividends in the handling.

It's amazing how much fixing up suspension parts does to the drivability of a car eh? Just changing my struts and springs from factory to STi inverted struts + STi pink springs has made the car a lot more fun to throw around and given me more confidence in the car.

    Soooo, today:

Pulled exhaust apart. Shoved gasket into Vbanded genome ( attached to a modified redline 3inch ss turbo back)

Seperated joints, sealed gaskets with goop, reassembled.

Installed whiteline rear outrigger support lock washers

Installed whiteline positive shift kit (hoooooooly crap that made a HUGE difference to shifts)

Saw my trans mount is a bit sad, writing list for next round of mods.

Sold my "jinyu1 h-kiss ss que vee" bov for a set of alloy rear control arms.

Bought red top 6 speed shift knob

More tinkering with the speed density tune, the latest revision of the tune needs a LOT more work than the old ones. More logging to do.

In conversation with "torqued performance" for an e-tune, lets see how this goes. Busy busy day, very rewarding

Keen to hear how your Genome sounds! I've got one sitting in the garage ready to have Vband clamps added so I can swap between it and the factory muffler if i want 100% silence.

Holy S*** I am in the top 10!!!

Can someone please knock me off that list ASAP, its a disgrace with the amount of power some gents (and ladies) around here have at here disposal :P

Oi nah, that'd mean I'd get kicked off the list :(
