  1. anyone know where i can source a reasonably priced mid section only for a bg5 tt wagon ?? sublab want $2800 for the genuine part
  2. i forgot to put the safety pin in the trailer load of kayaks before reversing them into a shipping container - hitch popped off and stoved the tailgate in
  3. they pull well -problem is trying to keep it on one of the turbos when getting it rolling out of junctions ;D
  4. towed my 4.5 m sea nymph today, with my 2.8m fibreglass hull inflatable strapped on top of it, 60 plus litres of fuel, wakeboard, sea biscuit, 8hp outboard for the rib, 4 people in the car and assorted other shite. it wasn't it's usual spritely self :D
  5. had a new fuel pump fitted - OUCH !! it finally shat itself, good news is it's sorted the shite running issues i've been having.....
  6. *edit* though they shouldn't be plugged unless you want to check for stored codes.....
  7. nah, they plug in to each other. do a search for check CEL on here (or the net) there's a whole load of info on them and the green ones......
  8. pretty sure the two balck ones are to allow you to check any stored codes if your cel comes on (that's what they do in my leggy anyway)
  9. next question ;D what's the difference between different coloured bov's ?? i've got the orange primary biv from my blown motor, can i use this to replace a blue secondary ??
  10. cheers gazzy - getting a 66 under heavy load, slowly working my way through things... how much you after for a good one?? i did the suck test on mine and it's started leaking..... blue sticker
  11. after getting myself confused can anyone confirm whether the primary and secondary bov's are identical or ar they different ??
  12. pretty sure i think I know the answer to this, but how can i tell if my leggy is BG5a ?? Without looking at the plugs into the ECU ?? idle curiosity and all that !!!
  13. a bit late, Horopito with Ruapehu in the background. There were soooooooo many legacys up the mountain it was untrue !!
  14. Horrid 80's PB photo, but what a bike... to be parked next to..... and alongside one these... and one of these.....
  15. in a way i can understand it - cos before i left the uk in 2005 i was paying $2000 a year to insure my gsx-r, $1000 a year to insure a 1.1 saxo, and another $1000 a year to insure a twnty odd year old transit camper. and that was as a 35 year old with a clean licence and full no claims. car insurance is crippling back home, especially if you;re under 25. you do what you can afford to insure !!!

  17. So, i've got a couple of damaged lines that need replacing ( 95 GT TT). Can i just use any silicon hose ?? which lines have the restrictor pills in ?? how do i recognise them - i know that they are meant to be marked with dots, but i'm buggered if i can see them !! are the restricotr pilss directional, or can they go in any way round ?? thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give - and i'm not going single before you all start ;D
  18. nope, it's only the vertical lamp mercs that float my boat - not sure why, wanted one since the eighties but back home they all rusted to shit or got run into the ground as taxis - there's thousands of them (literally) in north africa.....
  19. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/MercedesBenz/280e/auction-349627477.htm love stacked lamp mercs - if it wasn't an auto i'd be tempted to buy it just to save the poor fucking thing !!! almost bought one of these when i bought my leggy, just couldn't bring myself to drive such a beautiful car on the beach and wreck it ........
  20. in stock, picking up rebuild kit form whangarei on monday. sweeeeeet !! wonder what's going to need fixing next
  21. sweet !! i'm passing through warkworth on mon so will get on the phone and see what they can do !! thanks again
  22. cheers - i'll strip and grease the rears. i've got a sticky piston on my front drivers side so that caliper definitely needs an overhaul - i'm having to free it off at least once a fortnight now and it's doing my box in. DRFVDR - what / where do you mean by BNT ? contact details would be helpful !! thanks again all !!
  23. continuing asking for help im getting really fed up of the fortnightly freeing up of siezed brake calipers from boat launching so its time to strip and rebuild the calipers all round. i've done this before on rovers and transits so am happy doing it myself - is there any way i can find out (or do any of you know) what other scoobys use the same calipers as a 95 jdm gt wagon ?? if there's an imprezza that uses the same calipers then i can buy kits from the uk at a fraction of the price the genuine legacy stuff is going to cost. cheers all !!
  24. mine still exists even after a manual conversion. surely the fact that you're going backwards is enough ???????
