  1. how long do you think my bearing will last ;D its been making crunching noises for about 100km lol (after a few hard launches while i was being an idiot lesson learned ) halfway through exhaust now have seen a 250$ box on TM haha how do i know wheither my clutch will fit in the new box?
  2. never like those bumpers but haha wonder if its similar to the 22b engine
  3. ahhh I c I c - On a stock car this wouldn't matter so much though right? Thought that sort of stuff only mattered when pushing for big numbers. Now im tempted to just weld up the existing headers and save myself the 300$ haha So would you guys buy those headers for that price? im quite keen on them but don't know weither I should just stick with the stock sti headers?
  4. I could be happy with just 1 vf22 ;D thats pretty insane though I gathered someone must have done something along those lines though
  5. haha nice pics (cough bug eyes are ugly cough cough) interesting about the 1100hp one the other thing I was wondering about was the redline for a twin turbo engine
  6. thank for for the pic, those are very nice looking headers Guted I think the up pipe does have the heat shroud over it >.< Just noticed the auction has changed http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=326513763 What is the difference between equal length an non equal length headers? And are these still worth buying now knowing that? I was ready to hit buynow until I saw that lol now I dont know what to think EDIT* - after doing a bit of reading I see that equal length headers produce less heat than unequal which makes the car more reliable an is safer on the turbo Can anyone reflect on this with subarus? hp wise it should make little difference? but reliability wise it will keep you engine cooler? also read that unequal will spool slightly faster ? Cheers Sam
  7. is it not possible to build a monster twin turbo ej20/25 ? obviosuly its a hell of alot easier to just go single turbo but surely someone has made one of these into a beast
  8. I was looking on youtube an saw a nice twin turbo legacy putting out high HP, just wondering if anyone can link me to some monster builds for the twin turbo if anyone knows of any done? always had me curious as to what power you could make from one
  9. what about the SJ series of suzukis as well like 10years ago you drove one into the ground an sold it for 300$ nowadays one of those wrecks fetches 1500$ no wof an like over 2500 if its got a wof an rego O_O still wish i had one though :'(
  10. just a thought but if its a turbo you should check all the hoses that go to it, ive got a tiny tiny leak on one of my hoses that wouldn't have noticed until turbo heat vent thingy was off.you'll know whats a radiator pipe cause when car hot the pipes will be hot an you can just touch the pipe an go aw yea thats one of them an check the connections... ;D
  11. the older shape mr2s seem to be going up an most of them are crap buckets ahha i imagine the wrxsti will turn out like the ford escort has, everyone had one but now there aren't many left
  12. still saving $$ for that gearbox headers come first though-just wondering though to do a gearbox does parts of the exhaust have to come out?
  13. yeap was definitely going to wrap them. did you look at pic? looks like it would be hard to wrap the single pipes or would you just go around both at once? Is there anything wrong with redline performance heatwrap? seems like its half the price of any other shops heatwrap.ALSO should I heatwrap downpipe as well? I'm new to this stuff but I done a few projects in my times (suzukis an minis)
  14. awesome awesome,Did you guys heat wrap yours? looks like theyd be hard to wrap O_O but definitely want to wrap them because my engine bay was to hot recently. Now just to find away to get them to chch hopefully the trader will be kind enough to drop them into my company up in aucks an they can chuck them on the next shipment we get,but still no answer from trader. yes uppipe integrated into them. When you say jack car up high how high are we talking here? ive got drive on blocks that give about 40cm of clearance under the car which has been amazingly helpful(apart form being scared shitless about earthquakes lol) Will that be enough you reckon? or am I likely to need a car lift for this? another wee thing I was wondering about was getting the turbo off the uppipe. Firstly I broke my socket then rounded out the only other piece I had an now its getting abit worrying. I've read that you can undo the uppipe from the exhaust side an then just pull it out from the top of engine. Can anyone confirm this method? Or give any tips on those stubborn bolts? Your help has been really appreciated so far so thanks to everyone whos lending there information
  15. what do you guys reckon about this set on TM http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=326513763
  16. hmmm ok thanks was abit skeptical about putting 1 on hahaha, can you linky me to a similar BOV like the one used in that pic? so i know what to look for
  17. cheers for the pic helps alot, So i guess you just didnt plumb back the intake hose on it? did it make any performance changes by NOT plumbing it up to stock? Subarus dont really like having the stock intakes changed, when I put my pody on it made a chhhh sound but every time it rained it had troubles when warming up... the stock filter works well enough I don't know why people chance it unless they're going to do it properly with cold air intake Again not after a loud one, althou I am fond of the whistle ones, have just seen a 5$ stock one on TM so buying that for now but please if you have a v-1-2 post me a pic of the aftermarket bov an let me know how it performs Cheers Sam
  18. that helps alil but is confusing cause of the front mount lol. What im basically wondering is weither there are bovs that are the same as the stock ones that give off a sound? an plumb up the same holes ect.. the other thing was i'd heard taking off the stock bov doesn't do you any favours until tuned because of the blowback it puts in the air box? Thoughts? tbh I would rather not have a crappy psst sound but there are no stock bov on TM that are the same as mine
  19. yea stock bov. just wonder where is the best place to plumb it up to, hopefully i can get one that'll bolt onto where the other one is I think v3 has a different intake than v2 but everything helps
  20. My bov has snapped an connector an I need to upgrade. Was wondering how others had plumbed theres up? if possible a pic would be great version 1-2 Cheers Sam
  21. cheers for the replies il stay away from the cheap ones. Its not that I don't want the good ones it just 900 $ headers are way way way down on the list of needs right now might wait until I see some good ones on trademe or here and just do the up pipe for now the good thing about keeping stock is it has that nice rumble to
  22. cant really tell because all the exhaust has covers over it haha but its around the up pipe area probably the flexi joint (was told) It could be a td05 but I haven't had it off to check yet I tried to remove uppipe when I did downpipe but needed an stronger socket set as mine got fuxored haha an the other decent one I had was to small to use >.<
