I am not going to talk u out of it but i will tell u wat everyone else on here will
and that is buy a RSK
not only do u have the expense of the conversion but your car will need to be re certed with new setup in it
yup good write up and lovely pics
one trap for young playas is the oilfiter O-ring staying on the housing and not on the filter, check that the O-ring is on the old filter before installing new one,2 0-rings are not better than one and it will leak oil all over your nice clean driveway
this is from personal experience
*oring = O-rings now*
and that gets on my wick as well
the use of a 3 for a e or a 0 for an o or a 4 for an a
if u have to use those cause some one else used your idea, get over it
use your imagination
edit
case in point i got DRFVDR about a year ago
there are good plates out there use your brains and stop copying some one else
it is a flat rate for a personalised plate
i have one for sale
but u wont be able to afford it
I prefer not to have plates that are car specific as then u are either stuck with that car(or type) or u have to sell plate when u sell car
my guess about the stalling after boosting would be he is running a vent to air BOV and not a plumb back...
plumb it back an it will be sorted...
get rid of the pod filter as it will damage the airflow meter(quessing it is an oiltype)
bitch bitch moan moan
as long a subaru keeps using the boxer and AWD i will support them
So wot if they are making cars to appeal to the Yanks
if they can sell 100,000 cars a year instead of 50,000 then they will have more money to concentrate on a new coupe or maybe a new brumby or even some type r or ra's and even god forbid a spec c or 3
we shoulda got an aircooled porsche motor
that woulda sorted it
we have a few radiator options
but maclennas using a rx7 bat rad so we found one on trade me
maybe run an external oil cooler
I always always downshift(but then i drive buses and use the exhaust brake to slow me)
couple of thoughts but here are mine
it uses engine braking to help slow the vehicle so it assists the brakes....
if something happens that is required to accelerate out of u are at least in a gear
and it sounds farken nice heheheheh
I would not do it personally
it will play havoc with your centre diff
i think a difference of 10% rolling circumference was banded about as the cut of point....
I have not had this happen to a subaru but have had a AWD hiace which uses a viscous centre diff, seize its centre diff because of different tire size....
it was only about 5k to fix
yes they are the ones he means...
as a bus truck mechanic I have seen an idea and it is a joiner plate between the solid parts of the intercooler system to hold the parts together but allow flex....
most of the time pipes being blown off is caused by the solid piping expanding away from each other under boost
well the engine is in the hole and mated to the 5 speed,
came up against a few issues but we will sort them
drivers side exhaust will have to be modified (bloody cross member in the way)
and we still not sure wot we gonna do about the radiator it may end up having no aircon ?
and bonnet wont close completely but we will try the legacy alternator mounts and see if it lower....
new fly wheel fitted...
will it fit
damn looks like the gearbox needs to come out again
would that be a gnats hair clearance
Well that answers that question an eg33 does fit :)
plenty room back here
dont think a radiator will fit here(yet)
we are considering getting a NA bonnet and VZ badging should make for a pretty damn good sleeper
we were pleasantly surprised that the ride height seems to have remained the same
double de clutching on a syncro box actually wears the syncros more(they have to slow/speed up gears twice)
and I know i do this all the time
a few years driving trucks with crash boxes and it is now a bloody hard habit to get out of....
further update
new geabox is in
the flywheel is on as is the clutch(new as we had it in stock)
next thing will be slotting the engine in the hole
then the real hard work starts
trying to wire the bugger .....
