  1. Yeah that symbol is pretty universal for CEL, our old Peugeot had one like that and think our new VW has the same.
  2. 8.5'' on a legacy B4? Whats the offset? Keep us posted on how they fit... And PLEASE dont go fitting triangle or ling long tires!
  3. Ive got a secondhand genuine HKS SSQV for sale for the same price. Includes full adapter kit for a B4 Legacy
  4. Does the vacuum piping all look stock? i.e no vac lines leading to nowhere/blocked off?Its not likely but I'm just thinking on the off-chance that someone has had a fiddle with it and converted the system to parallel.
  5. I would suggest running the car in diagnostics mode. I can't recall the exact sequence but basically you will need connect the green and black plugs under the dash (drivers footwell) with the ign. off then turn on the car. This will cause all the solenoids in the BBOD to activate (you will hear them clicking) these will then sequence the movement of the Exhaust Control Valve (ECV) and the Intercooler Control Valve (ICV) if these fail to open/close then you have a problem. Either of these failing to work will give you no secondary boost. If what I've said just went straight over the top of your head I suggest you learn how the TT system works.. http://www.veloce.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Twin%20Turbo%20Operation/ttopprt2.htm
  6. Get the mechanic to give you a warrenty on that... Whats your reason for de-catting? Sound or performance?
  7. You have a 00' C revision B4 dont you? From memory the VF33 has a larger compressor inlet than all other primarys, so wont fit your car without changing the under manifold intake anyway.
  8. Fair enough. could you not just ask one of the more experienced mechanics to take a quick look? Much easier than trying to diagnose over the net..
  9. +1 A new set of performance pads + fluid will go a long way to improve the brakes
  10. Sigh.. Look at the picture I posted its written next to the word Spec NOT below it. All TT IHI units are RHF4 so that doesnt help identify what yours is. If your chassis is a BE5C then its stock turbo will be a VF31 anyway.
  11. What do you mean by this? Do you drive around with the BOV disconnected like that? The turbo number will be etched into the housing next to the word SPEC Like this...
  12. Yeah they have been around for a few years, were good for sourcing second hand parts from japan if you cant speak japanese. Even better that 41 do the yahoo auctions now.
  13. Well yeah I dont know what the spring rate is on the factory unit, but im guessing the boost is strong enough to blow it wide open every time you hit throttle, giving you little or no boost. :
  14. Wow thats a BOV fail. I would put the recirculation hose back on ASAP, you cant just take it off and run it like a aftermarket atmospheric one.
  15. Your primary should then be a VF31 with a VF32 secondary.
  16. Man whats with all primary turbo threads all of a sudden! ??? Please give us the the chassis code of your B4. Its written on a plate on the passengers side strut tower. It will be a BE5xxxx If you use a small torch you can normally see the numbers on the turbo, unless they're covered in gunk.
  17. Those are factory optioned mufflers. The rest of the the exhaust will most likely be stock as well.
  18. Woah that not cheap... Can get them for much cheaper elsewhere. Here and Trademe are always good, the going rate is normally $100-200 for something like a primary turbo.
  19. All primary turbos will fit except the VF33 with its larger compressor inlet. That said I would go putting anything lower than a VF26 on otherwise your just using an older, lower tech turbo on. VF26 or VF31 would be the way to go.
  20. Ah well heres a last minute entry.. never really had time to get out and have a play around. :-[ I think the competition is a great idea though, hope the mods will host another one soon! IMG]http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee21/Slideways_2007/CSC_0076edit2.jpg[/img]
  21. 500-600ks per tank (60L) Probably 70/30 open road/city. Gentle crusing at 100kph and giving some stick when the road gets windy 99' B4 RSK Manual
