  1. Do you mean L/km or km/L or L/100km? Because using 13.5 litres per km is a lot and more on the open road then town doesnt match either? 13.5km/L is 877.5km on a 65 litre tank which is what I think you mean? Most I have got is 11.2km/L which is 728km per tank. Have seen the trip computer saying 700km left on the full tank.
  2. I've had a look at the whiteline site. Interestingly enough whitelines front swaybars are also larger in the front then the rear. With both Cusco and Whiteline having larger fronts, does this mean the car is best suited this way? Whiteline do a 22mm front and 20mm rear for the BL legacy.
  3. Thanks 8e4r I did wonder about the larger front bar as every other set I've seen had a larger rear bar vs front. I think I might leave it and save some cash
  4. Hi, I've seen some Cusco Sway bars advertised which will fit my BL5 Legacy GT Spec.B. They are a 23mm Front and 21mm Rear. My legacy has factory bilstein suspension. I'm looking at reducing the body roll the car suffers from. Will this be a good upgrade? Are a 23mm Front and 21mm Rear about right? cheers
  5. I was looking at an old autocar mag (could have been a 2006 mag) the other day and there was an article on this car. I think it basically said the car was the same as the gt except for the body kit etc and $5000 more then the GT. Can find it and scan it if you like.
  6. Not long after you take the key out of the ignition you should get a flashing key on the dash board. I think this means the immobilizer is active. Like others have said. lock it using the button on the remote with a window down, leave it 30 seconds or so unlock the door through the window (lock button goes the opposite you you think it should) and see if the alarm goes off. Mine uses the horn and is real loud. If it does just use the unlock button on the remote to turn it off. Car looks just like mine except mines Jap. Mine actually as a subaru vehicle security sticker on the rear left passenger window. I think i have a US manual somewhere.
  7. This will be the first stage of the shock sensor giving out a warning. From time to time I get this as well.
  8. I got it for $120. I've just asked the guy if it is ok to give out his email address I can PM it to you once I get a reply. nickmcgill, in the newer legacy's they have changed to a CeNet plug. This needs a little junction box to interpret the audio signal. This is why they are so much more expensive then the round connector.
  9. I doubt I'll get it for free. After I got my tyres they did the alignment but couldn't finish the rear L toe in as they couldn't release the bolt. They said they didn't want to break it. Had to take it to subaru to get the bolt undown (10minute job if that) They charged me a part charge for re-doing the alignment on the rear after subaru un-did both rear toe in bolts. Couldn't get away with it for free the 2nd time so doubt I'll get it the 3rd time. Probably put up with it until I need my next alignment.
  10. oh ok. I had an alignment about a month ago. Can subaru adjust it without altering the alignment? Its really starting to annoy me not being centered.
  11. Hi, When my front wheels are facing straight forward my steering wheel is turned to the left slightly. Is this easily adjustable? Do you do it at the wheel or the other end? Its going into subaru at the end of the month so was going to ask them to have a look at it Its a 03 BL5 GT spec.b cheers
  12. Hi Brad, I've got a couple of problems with my S5 that was installed in march. Everytime the car is parked out in the hot hot sun the alarm goes off. There hasn't been many hot days since it was installed but it has happened every time. Today it is hot and sunny (car is indicating 25, sunburn hot, yehhh Hawkes Bay ) and I was parked at a cafe and the alarm went off. about 2 minutes later it went off again. I disarmed it and locked car on factory remote. Two weeks ago we had another hot sunny day. Alarm went off. In April we went to watch a rally and it was a really hot day and the alarm went off. That is basically every hot day we have had while the car has been parked out in the sun. I pulled out the PAT memory the following codes. (did it twice and wrote them down to make sure I had it right) 6 5 7 7 7 8 7 3 Shock sensor and Door as last triggers? Doesn't seem right at all. I pulled the code in April and was 8, bonnet/boot. Everytime it has gone off I have been in sight of the car. The car is garaged at night and basically all week. Now it is getting warmer I don't want it going off all the time. I contacted you a few months ago via toyspeed. I kept getting 4 chirps from the alarm after parking in my garage and arming it. This still happens very regularly. Was pretty bad one night at a motel one night when it chirped 4-5 times after coming back late. I got the shock sensor turned down one stage but it still does it. Any idea on the temperature thing? Presume I could get this looked at under warranty but don't want it to go on on with the installer not finding anything.
  13. I got one for my 2003 BL5 with 6cd stacker (Square CeNet port) Didn't get from radio waves through. Quite a bit cheaper then that... Works really well, press 'CD', it changes to the indash cd changer, press CD again and 'CHG' comes up on the screen and plays the IPOD. Sounds really good. Only problem is it charges the IPOD via 12v. It does this by using the Firewire connector in the Ipod cable. Apple have discontinued using this port so it will not charge a lot of the newer Ipods. My 2nd Gen Nano charges fine but it won't charge my 2nd Gen Touch (still plays and works fine though) I'm quite happy using the nano as I just leave it in the car. Don't really want to leave the Touch in the car. If anyone is interested I can put you in contact with the supplier. Can take photos next time I pull the stereo out.
  14. Sorry digging up an old post. Had a look at my model code in my sedan. Checked the model code from another post and this website http://tiny.cc/PBcsr and my car is infact a Spec-B. Car was advertised as just a GT when i got it. Cool
  15. I'm running 225/45/18 on my BL5. Came with them. Will look at price of 215's when all 4 need replacing. No problems with guard rub anywhere. hasn't been lowered. 45 is better then 40 series. Closer to original size.
  16. I live in hastings. When I was in there a few months ago I saw it on the shelf in parts. Wonder if it was the parts guy that said not to use it or the service guys, they don't share the same office. Looking at my old service history the upper engine cleaner is part of the regular service.
  17. I've got my stereo out at the moment. There is one square socket there which I believe is for a cd changer. You may be able to get a cable for it. Will take some photos. Here is my stereo, I think the BL5 models are black and BP5's Silver? Here is the back of the stereo. There is one spare socket on the top right. It is a 13pin socket Close up I've messaged a guy to see if he has a supply of them. He does older round plug mcIntosh cables
  18. japanparts.com do a kit called "AV Panel Set", part number 107-209-006, about $500 + shipping. Its expensive because it includes a replacement A/C unit. You cant separate the current A/C unit from the stereo. A few people in the US on legacygt.com have purchased them. A local audio shop I spoke to could also get them through one of their suppliers (about $600)
  19. Did you manage to get this out? have got the manual if you want to pm me.
  20. Thats what mine were weren't too bad, the mrs complained the first trip we did, but after that I had no complaints. I probably wouldn't by D2's again, I would go for a tein street version. But then I'll probably never look at coilovers again, quite happy with stock suspension at the moment.
  21. I had some d2's in my toyota. I had the same thing on the box I got. I believe all of them have this as they are illegal to install in road cars in most countries (you need a cert in NZ) Thats why they say track use only. From what I could find there was only one model for my toyota, there wasn't a street or track variation.
  22. Mine has 225/45/18 which i know is incorrect. 215/45/18 is the correct size. Speedo is out slightly. I need two new rear tyres soon, fronts are almost brand new. After both sets are worn down I may look at getting 4 new 215's. But like you said they are really expensive. I've currently got bridgeston Potenza RE030's, another factory subaru tyre.
  23. Really? because I have a JDM 'GT' with 18" alloys, bilstein's, 5sp Manual, and from what the dealer quoted and what I have found online 205Kw. I have seen several other GT's on tradme that have the same alloys as mine and the same alloys as an advertised spec B. Anyone know the different chassis codes?
  24. Oh ok, why would they not bring them all out with it? Would mean different keys wouldn't it? I can understsnd an alarm being an option. Mine has both but still went for an aftermarket alarm.
