Dam you must have really tried to do it up tight. I think the manual says 18nm so not much at all

Nah, they break easy with age. When it comes time for me to do my rocker covers I'll be replacing bolts and rubber washers!
@IZichard The motor on my old GC8 one broke, just got a short rubber whip antenna; looked the part and effective- also never needed a motor.

  2. I'd recommend running only oil cooling to anyone going bigger turbo that's a journal bearing; Holset/TD, If it can run with less, run with less. A- less S*** to worry about, B- doesn't need it, C- Cuts down on the amount of S*** you then need in your engine bay. Put a frost plug in the back of the head, remove the header tank and all associated lines which are then no longer needed.

Man, I wish I knew where these all were...

I don't live in auckland anymore but I do know the area the current one is, You just have to spend some time getting lost along the streets in different 'burbs man. keep driving til you find your way out- only when you are completely lost revert back to google maps.

  4. ^That's now playing on loop huehuehue. Sounds good!
I uh, realised I'd plumbed up my BCS as if it were an external gate. So, I sorted that out, now- I don't know about you guys but plugging green connectors in- One should hear the BCS cycling?  Just seemed weird to me that now it's boosting exactly the same as the old solenoid was.
Though, my understanding is that when no power is applied- the wastegate will see all of the pressure, but when power is applied the wastegate will see none- so I think I'm pretty safe in assuming the brand new MAC valve I got from Link works.

    Ah well, tune soon... :D

Today I was driving and had a near miss with a bird... or so I thought. Got back home and opened the bonnet only to have a bird fly out and almost hit me. It got caught by the bonnet scoop and was just sitting on the intercooler for the rest of the drive. Not sure who was more shocked, the bird or me.

Spent the next five minutes pulling feathers out of the intercooler fins.

    #SubaruProblems

Had that with the old GC8, Except the one I hit may or may not have made contact during a passing manoeuvre at slightly above the speed limit.
Then another hour of driving through to picton, needless to say- the little bugger did not get up and fly away...

What are the rules about accidental all 4 spin?

I mean, if your really pushing it and peel around a corner while twisting a nip and the back kicks out, can you stylishly plant it and whip it out wide?

Just for the record I know how westie that sounds :P

lol @Kiwi_Fozze won't take it on the track. He keeps bleeding on about how it's got 300,000km on the clock and that "it'd be it's last day if I took it on the track". haha

Nah, Tactrix the bastard, give it a safe tune, drop the boost a little, Pump up the tyres so the driveline survives and you don't have traction. With a baffled sump he'll be sweet.
Come on Adam, you know you want to.
