  1. Just have a look to see if there is any fluid leaking, if not ( and having only done 50 -70k I wouldnt expect any ) keep driving the car as normal. No point spending money on something thats not broken. As they tend to last well over 100tho ks before you would have any problems. My advice: Ignore replacing them till you have some hard evidence that they actually need replacing.
  2. Where you located? If in Auckland I would be keen
  3. Wow Car looks great, congratulations! Any chance of a quick run down on why you weren't impressed by the dealers service?
  4. Yea but aristo's with standard exhausts but loud turbo spool = mean Just like mine below hahahahaha
  5. Yea I agree, If you are going to spend $1000 + on a super duper alarm it seems a little stupid. If some one tries to steal your car with the flash alarm, pretty sure they will damage the car in the proccess so even if they don't get away with the car you will still have to claim on insurance to get it fixed. (excess will be the same either way). With the GPS thingy, I don't know about anyone else but when your car gets stolen and then recovered a couple of days later its never the same. Some times I thinks its almost better to lose it completely and start again with a new one. Only positive is that there is a chance they could catch the theives. If you are sensible about where you park and don't have big flashy accessories like cromes and huge guages then I would doubt you would have any problems Good insurance helps to What part of the country are you in?
  6. Water pump only cost like $120 too if I am not mistaken, small price to pay for piece of mind.
  7. Yea cheers thanks for that. Yea as I say not really a serious buyer at this stage but yup as things start to progress with the sale of may car I will get in touch with him. But yea cheers for that
  8. Ohh cool, I still have to sell my car before I can do anything but thought it look like a nice car. Does it look as tidy in real life as it does in the pictures?
  9. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/auction-243363155.htm Seen this on trade me, could be a members car not sure. Just after you opinion on it? Are there many places up in Auckland that tune the micro tech ecu etc?
  10. Yea looks like this one has had a bit of work done to it, a lot of STI bits chucked in. If I looked a little better then I would be keen
  11. Having worked temporarily in the parts department of a Motor Bike shop a couple of months ago, I can say its a bloody mission trying to find the exact part someone wants. Computer systems a average and when you don't have an infinite knowledge on that year model and sub model things can get quite challenging. But yea no excuse if you have been working there for ages!
  12. I wasn't aware that this was possible. I was under the impression that it was only possible to reflash the V7 plus ecu's but there you go. Learn something new everyday! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Subaru/ECUs/auction-243245902.htm
  13. Just spotted this on trademe....could be of interest http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/auction-241328932.htm
  14. This might sound a little stupid on my behalf but is there even a STI Type R RA??? Thought only the wrx couple had the roof scoop so is this not just a WRX coupe with all the STI bits put in??
  15. Where abouts are you guys located? Thats way cheaper than torque performance
  16. Ran into this the other day. Pretty funny and something I am sure a few of us can relate to: http://www.break.com/index/psycho-girl-forgets-boyfriend-is-in-europe.html
  17. Car: Toyota Aristo Suspension: Lowering Springs Mags: TSW's Wheels diamater: 20inch Wheels width: Really wide?? Offset: ? Tyres spec: Back: 285/25-20 Front:235/30-20 Did you have to roll the guards?: Most defiantly
  18. I don't know much about the old legacy's but that seems to be a lot of boost? What should it run standard? Could it be the boost spiking?
  19. Haha yea remember that, shame it was a hox hahaha
  20. White Forester FTW! The grey one it nice too http://www.litimports.co.uk/subaru_06forester.asp These are the guys that import them into the UK. The great thing about these are that they have to remap-able/flashable ecu's so doesn't take much to get them making heaps of power.
  21. Sounds like boost cut but you still got it when you turned the boost down aye?
  22. I am a big fan of the Sti forester's. Keep in mind tho that the one on 5th gear has been retuned slash reflashed to run on UK fuel so isn't exactly a a standard car. eg Making 300hp and if you compared a standard STI forester and a standard Sti sedan the sedan would thrash it.
