  6. i get about 2.5 3 at idle and up to 8+ anywhere above 1800rpm. 4 on cold startup and no change with electrical use. my two 12" subs cranking doesnt affect oil pressure
  7. sounds like the 4k rev limit ford put in the mondeo and others ford made. but it was only in the auto when in "N" or "P". but im sure this has to be after market!! have you tried 100% throttle and slowly letting the clutch out? it might over rev just before engagement or something?? there has to be a limit switch or some sort of sensor on one of the clutches moving parts. find it and delete it if you cant control/modify it! or they do have factory launch control??
  8. $200 isnt 100% fail safe though. so you cant rule out that the little thingy round the big thingy wont grow an arse and legs and run on you imagine if you could "dry sump" it for $200!! mmmmmmm dry sump
  9. well the easy part comes with the dccd that the coupe comes with. unless the said sedan has a dccd and controller? the center diff can be locked at the finger tips without removing the gearbox....... remove front shafts. pull apart cvs... replace outer cv back into hub, tighten center nut. lock center diff in the cabin and presto. RWD WRX the coupe is easier to convert to RWD is probably what i shouldve said. in saying that any (edit: any GC8. i cant speak for the newer ones))WRX that has dccd factory is. just depends on the diff (r180) etc.. to wether it will last witout breaking anything. my coupe has been RWD for months and havnt had a cv or diff problem yet *touch wood*. mind you i do have solid rear bushes, control/trailing that are a must. but i still went a few months with the rubber
  10. oh and just do the baffle for gods sakes!! who cares how much lateral force it takes to starve an oil system, the main point is regardless of cost, a modified one works better than standard.... and is a cost effective mod with valuble benefits if you wanna smash out some corners........ ive just replaced my short block and that was no 400 freaken dollars let alone 200!!!

C'Mon!! go RWD!!!!!! im not sure i can go back to 4WD!! i do have a coupe though, (R180, dccd, CVs etc...) so i can swap back to 4WD by just putting the front shafts back in. that easy when owning a coupe Ive found the car to be enough of a challenge to drive "quickly" RWD (not just straight line speed) that im satisfied with the limit i can push it to, if that makes any sense to any of you. dont really need more power........ cant use all of what i have anyway i have a locked 4.111 center diff thats welded if you feel like having a play? Mattapo wants my DCCD. but not sure i can part with it aye. its like letting go of gold

  13. turned the key for the 1st time tonight after the shortblock replacement............ had to jump the battery as turning it over without the fuel on to get some oil pressure 1st before i tried to start killed it!! right the mrs car hooked up via jumper cables............... **hangs head in shame because the mrs "mitsi" cedia turbo is running** no go sonny!!! dam..... where to next??????
  14. yeah my problem was i didnt check all my mates work who was helping me. so i would run over all the vaccum hoses and check them thoroughly. it just seemed to take forever to spool up. and if this is what it seems to feel like for you then dont boost till its fixed. i would hate for antone else to "throw a leg" because of a stupid but very important little hose
  15. how many Ks on the clock and when was the cambelt done last? does it smoke much cold/warm?
  16. dude to me its sounds like one of the wastegate actuator hoses are cracked, not connected, ive blown up one of my motors because i didnt have one of the hose connected after a turbo swap. i thought it was the new characteristics of the turbo but the big cloud of smoke behind me told me otherwise does it feel like it has no torque then gets up to about 4-4.5k rpm then starts to boost?

  18. yeah mate some shops (theres one in rotorua) that have 2nd hand short blocks with new forged internals for say $3-4k on swap of your blown short block. i know youre in the SI but maybe there is somone down your ways that could do the same. allow for a oil/water pump. may as well do all idlers and cambelt/tentioner and a seal & gaskit kit. like the others said about 6k
  19. i have to agree with the give way swap too driving around aussie i was annoyed that i had to give way and couldnt go but it is safer and i can see that there would be less accidents caused by confusion. some of us here in NZ are having a moan because its something that is changing!! some people just dont like change full stop, and they cant claim ingnorance because they know Mr blue wont buy it! ived had a few near misses entering my street (tee intersection with two dead ends each way) where people are coming from my left wanting to turn right and expecting me to give way when im not on a give way. neither are they, but we have to give way to our right if there is no give way sign for either of us right???!!! i love laying on the horn and waving my closed fist at them. i'll still drive in front of them and go first. i will have an accident one day coz i dont stop for them its a slow speed area and its not like i race up to that intersection and just go
  20. yeah isnt the wagon rear back rest two peice? and the coupe/sedan rear has hooks on the back that slot in the back of the backrest to hold it. pretty sure it would be a taller seat then the wagon ones

  22. hahaha yeah my car had a 280k and 10k rpm sti cluster put in and they didnt put it forward. wound off 90k but car jam let me know that before i bought it so just be honest when selling
  23. haha i know. its my first warrant with this car and i didnt even know they were on. when i pulled them off they were almost clear. im pretty sure both the gtbs and wrxs have the same darkness tint but yeah tints on factory tints!! WTF??
