Bluetooth/USB headunits

dudes

i see there are many a bluetooth headunit on the market, I need one now for various reasons, but i am not wanting an expensive option.

i see the sony mex bt models are quite cheap, but how good are they? also need something I can plug the iPhone into to play the old sounds so either front USB or Aux mini jack would be fine, dont want the 'Made for iPod' connection as you have to change songs through the head unit not the actual device (the latter being much much easier)

budget = <400

if any of you cats have a used model you are turfing, pm me.

prefer to change songs etc via the device itself rather than through the headunit as the last one I had was like that and it was pure pain in the ass material and there was no way around it once you had it hooked through the actual proper cable link hence just wanting it to hook up via mini jack to the aux in on the front.

JVC, 2 usb inputs, 1 aux input, bluetooth. can connect to any phone to do hands free, can control the ipod (through usb, you don't want that) or you can use the aux in and use the ipod to change songs instead. 1 of the usb ports is used up for the bluetooth dongle, so really there is one free for ipod/flash drive/whatever.

am I correct in assuming there is a standard sub in my GTB?

The sound system in is is actually quite decent, and Im an ex audio engineer so im sort of picky (not anally tho) but its not bad I must say

do you have the factory macintosh head unit? and is there a small-ish black box with some audio cable (the factory AMP) under the drivers seat? IIRC the only way to get the factory sub is with the amp under the seat. otherwise, no, there's no sub. to double check, look inside the compartments in the boot walls. i think the sub is in the drivers side one?

The factory McIntosh amp drives the fronts, rears and the 6x9" sub in the boot.

It has a 6 channel crossover in it and it derives the sub channel from the four input channels (fronts and rears).

I'm sure you could wire the factory sub into another amp etc. For the moment, I've wired the front and rear preouts on my new headunit to the factory McIntosh amp and for gain control of the sub channel, I've done avgeek's 'adjustable gain' mod ;)

its exposed on the drivers side, it is in replacement of the drivers side component box

cheers! that's even easier: do you have slots for a speaker in the drivers side of the boot wall? :P

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
