WRX STI V4 gearbox exploed

was passing a car and changed down to 2nd, then went to go into 3rd at about 5k then crunch. and now it wont go into 3rd and in ever other gear it makes a kinda grinding noise even in nutural. this is the 2nd gear box ive put into this car. ive only had this one in for 14 weeks. do you reckon i am covered by law for the garage that fixed it to replace or fix this one? cheers

if it is making a grinding noise all the time then something has obviously broken inside the box itself and there is probably going to be metal bits floating around inside.

so you say you got a workshop to replace the transmission or did they rebuilt it?

if it was a replaced trans (from a dismantler) then its going to have a parts only warranty (sometimes only 3 months ie 12 weeks)
