Alarm question

The BG TT I'm doing up has an AVS4601 fitted, but the siren is switched off, and the old owner lost the key.

Now me being a cheap bugger am planning on rangi-ing up the siren, but does the switch open circuit something in the "OFF" position, or does it short it? I guess I could open it and throw a multimeter over it, but that would be too easy. Does anyone here know for sure? AVS want me to buy another siren....

If its anything like the Dynatrons you can just turn them on using a couple of bobby pins. Its scarely easy to do.

Yeah haha I forgot to give the shop the key to mine when I got my clutch done, the guy there told me they got a couple of small allen keys and just turned it that way

certainly make you wonder why its so easy. hope the newer ones have something more secure. although i've had 3 different models/years and they have all been the same.
