Interchangability of cams.

V3-V4 and V5-V6 have been mentioned, but what about V1-V2 - how do they compare?

I've read in a few places that GTB heads are the best flowing - Is this still believed to be the case?

Stock for stock, how much of a difference does it really make between them all any way real world?

AFAIK the GTB heads (castings) and Sti heads are the same - so they would both flow the same.

edit: sti v3/4 and ej20r heads - is what im talking of here

I suspect the GTB cams would be different less agressive as the heads are shim over vs shim under for Sti's

No solid proof tho.

From what i have read sti v3/4 would be good for 500hp v5/6 perhaps abit more with the right turbo

v1/v2 wrx perhaps 450hp

A better head/cam combo will make more power at the same boost than a lesser head.

v5-6 and 98-2002 gtb heads have differnt part numbers for the castings

from everything i've read about it, cams from v5/6 (wrx and sti) will only fit in V5/6 heads (or gtb heads from the same year 99-00)

p.s once my heads get back from being ported i'll have some cams and srings for sale, my factory ones from v5 sti type r

from what i've read its not a problem having shim over bucket until you have more lift than a factory cam
