VDC in BP 3.0R B Specs

Hey all,

My olds are looking into buying a 05' 3.0R B-Spec in 6 speed manual (yum )

The owner has stated that the car has VDC but my father said that a dealer told him the manual versions dont come with VDC. It sounds to me like the dealer has his wires crossed confusing the car with a 3rd gen GT VDC which only came in auto. So just to double check is there anyway to easily check if the car is infact equiped with VDC (ie easily visible mechanical or electrical components in the engine bay or underside)

I know it should have a VDC on/off button below steering wheel but he doesnt want to rely on this as someone could have put a dummy switch in place

does it have a VDC light on the dash when u switch the switch,it should say VDC OFF or something

No, they couldn't get VDC to play nice with manuals until the current model.

So it won't have VDC.

Huh was that across all markets? Cause ive got a Wheels magazine from Jan 07' that tested the 3.0 B Spec (6 speed) and it said it has VDC... Only comes as a $3.5k option pack along with the navigation system though ???

Pretty sure ive seen VDC in some of the manual outbacks too..

Nope, VDC is auto only until 09 in the Legacy series.

Hmm the plot thickens.. car apparently has the VDC on/off switch + the VDC light in the dash comes on then goes off to signal everything is working fine ???

maybe has had a manual conversion?...button might not do anything but the light still there as a 'left over' ??? possible maybe

Possible but doubt it. 6 speeds arent cheap buy as a 2nd hand part so would be pointless. The vdc check light wouldnt work as well. Getting chassis code of owner this morning.. All secrets will be revealed

Ok, it's definitely a factory manual. I'll see what I can find with the VDC....

That chassis is listed without a steering angle sensor, one of the main parts of VDC.

I'm picking it's had some interior parts swapped from a car with VDC.
