I've just purchased one of the d/din panasonic units identified...... does anyone know if buying the harness would make this installation easy?

If not, has anyone else installed one and how easy is it to do as a DIY installation?

Would be more than happy just to cut the wires at the back and join the wire with connectors so if anyone can give me the colours of the individual speaker wires this would be very much appreciated!

You have two options, but one of them is the same

1. Get a Subaru loom adaptor & a Pansonic loom adaptor - plug n play.

2. Get a Subaru loom adaptor, cut off the black and brown plugs, then connect to the wires of the loom adaptor that comes with the Panasonic

Had a look for both the Panasonic & Subaru Looms. (WHPS3-Pan & WH537-Sub)...any idea if these are the correct ones for the plug and play options?

I'm no good with model numbers (and google was no help either), but if they are the same as the top one you linked above, then yep I'm positive they will work

Got both harnesses and tried the install today......got some sound, but a lot of feedback & only think I'm getting sound from the front speakers...

Still think I need to do something with the factory amp...By Pass??

You have a factory amp? You need to do some wiring trickery to get the front speakers working, you do need to bypass the factory amp for those, but the rears and factory "sub" will still work, if you have them.

I've given up! I'm going to get an installer to fit it on Tuesday!

Hopefully they can also keep my sat/nav - aircon screen live??
