aircon fan wont' turn off!! help!

my weird electrical problem.. the dial in the 98 legacy - round, the temp control is on the knob, half the top is the auto button, half the bottom is the off button... everything else works, but the off button doesn't turn it off??!! any ideas!!

in the fuse box by drivers kick panel or maybe in the engine bay fuse box

these units tend to play up, the rubber swithch pads behind the bottons move out of place and they dont work, usually though when this happens, the botton losses its abilaty to spring back out to u

Hey - when you hit the OFF button on the aircon unit, does the screen power off on the unit?

If it doesn't, that would suggest the button is prob faulty on the unit. Otherwise, yeah as has been suggested either air-con relay is stuck on or the relay drive circuitry inside the aircon display unit is faulty.

If the button is OK on the unit and replacing the relay doesn't help, then either get a replacement unit from a wreckers or I think there's a guy on TM who recons them as well.
