Distributor Leak

Hi

I have a Old Skool legacy with a EFI EJ18 in it, it has recently developed a oil leak in the distributor. How do I remove the distributor and replace the leaking seal?

I have pulled the dizzy cap off and notice there is two bolts on the Dizzy but don't know how it comes off when the bolts are removed.

i dont know the specifics, but if you look where it goes into the block there may be a singular bolt, this will prolly hold it in and allow for adjustment. undo and whole dizzy should come out.

i have a subaru dizzy here with 2 bolt slots that may just be a legacy one so either 1 or 2 bolts,that both adjust timing and hold it in the block,

before removal,take note(suggest taking pictures) of the direction of the rotor arm (it will make it easier to replace if u get this right) I have put a dizzy back on with the rotor 180 degrees out and wondered why it would not go

yea man easiest way is of course remove leads and wires etc ( remember which one goes where...also with disy cap off remember where its pointing too...)

if u put motor on TDC mark on the crank pully the distributor rotor will point to number one...if u remember this u can then put number 1 back on the one its poiting too and go from there...

also mark the timing with twink or similar so u refit the distributor in same timing mark..

remove the bolts in which allow the distributor to adjust and slide distributor out...

the o ring slips over the shaft into a groove if i remember corectly?? will be obvious wen u remove distributor

Thanks guys, but I need to know how to get it off. I removed the two bolts and tried pulling on it and knocking it with a rubber hammer but it didn't seem to loosen a lot. Once I remove the bolts does it just unthread from the head?

remove the 2 bolts that alow it to adjust...wiggle the distributor back and forth to "loosen" it up and it should remove alot easier...

dont hit it with a hammer u could bend the shaft or crack the distributor...should be able to wiggle it and remove
