gearbox issue, bearings?

Well grabbing a gearbox off a member on here on Sunday witch has a noisy front diff bearing? i don't no much about gearboxes, But are replacing these bearings a pain? and are the parts expensive? Got a family member who builds stock cars and stuff so hell give me a hand putting in hopefully ,

diff bearing? as in the differential carriers side bearing??

ive done rear diff units and to be honest i havent pulled a subaru front diff apart..but if its anything like a rear diff the diff will need the bearing preload reset once the new bearing is in...it would be worth replacing all the bearings IMO.....and to gain acces to the bearing u need to remove gearbox.remove center diff and then split gearbox casing...

hope some of this helps its a bit of a pain of a job

well apparently it has a noisy front diff? , and said its probably needs some new bearings? its out of car alredy

Also what are the bearings to buy? expensive?? out of a 1996 WRX. 4.111

u should be able to get a kit which has all the bearings in it for the gearbox??? would be worth while since shes all opened up to replace them
