Sender Locations

ej20 stripped down... hope it helps people with sender locations. Some things may be incorrect.

Intake manifold is off on this photo so you can see sender locations easier.. Thanks 2 BrownMSpurt

number 2: is the water temp sender location

number 1: Oil pressure/oil temp

3. Crank angle sensor. This works with #4 to tell the ECU if the crank is in the right place, meaning your pistons and rods won't smash into the valves and cause your motor death. This is an important sensor and your car won't start or run if it fails.

4. Cam angle sensor. Just at the base of the 4 you will see a grey plug. This is the cam angle sensor that tells the ECU if your cams are in time. It works in conjunction with #3 Crank Angle Sensor.

5. Cam wheels. Timing belt goes around them & the tensioners/idlers at #6. These MUST be kept in the right postition as the ends of the cams act off these wheels, and if the cam timing isn't right it'll push pistons into your valves, breaking valves and causing doves to cry.

6. Idler and tensioner wheels. Work with cam wheels (#5) to keep your motor a-runnin'.

7. Oil breather line that goes from the rocker cover around to the intake. You replace these lines when fitting a catch can.

8. Thermostat. It sits behind a cover which also serves as the mounting point for the bottom radiator hose (which feeds back into the radiator). Always use genuine thermostats.

9. Knock sensor. You can't see it but it bolts to the top of the block under the intercooler. A small round black sensor that tells your ECU if there is knocking or detonation (which will kill your pistons and big-end bearings). The ECU has a pre-determined amount of knock it can detect before it puts you in a "safe" limp-home mode.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
