Gearbox and engine mounts

Is it a good idea to replace stock mounts with uprated mounts? I have seen some mounts on trademe (hardrace brand) and wanted to upgrade my stock motor and trans mounts to these, I need some opinions on this topic asap please. Car has around 250kw at the wheels and is a gc8 version 6 sti also i have heard and seen the stock transmission mounts are quiet sloppy so people who use uprated mounts usually claim better shifting. Any advice will be appreciated guys

i think you've more or less answered your own question

i think i've lost 3rd gear to a broken engine mount, kept killing wrecker supplied mounts. i fitted new non-genuine after that, so far so good.

would be interesting to hear from anyone who's uprated

I've upgrades to solid engine mounts, "torque solution" ones as I was ripping stock ones. (310kw) engine no longer moves but has shifted the problem to the gearbox with difficulty shifting under hard acceleration... My new gearbox solid mounts arrived yesterday so will be interesting to see if this helps with the problem...

Will update after some testing and port road sprints on the 23rd!

Similar but with different car - uprated my Charade mounts to home-made solid engine mounts. It was 10x (well maybe 5x) easier to change gears under hard acceleration. Sometimes you had to move gear lever 1/2 way to new gear position then wait quite a while for the gears to mesh and the gearbox to move in the right direction into the gear levers request.

Oh i thought solid engine mounts might reduce box movement as well since they both joined together.......you guys recon 250kw is enough to break stock mounts?

clutch / driving style / type and age of mounts will all be factors

I think ill just replace it since it is 11 years old and will break sooner or later
