wrx ej20t into legacy gtb 96

Hello, So I have done a fair bit of searching but cant really find that much information which I find abit strange so just want someone to confirm afew things.

Im going to be putting a wrx engine into my gtb legacy so would like to confirm/know afew things.

If I got a 95 wrx engine would I be able to swap the injectors for yellow ones that gtbs run standard and just use the gtb ecu to run it?

Or will that not work as gtbs run different heads than the wrxs etc.

I read in the gtb tt to single turbo conversion thread that you need an v3/v4 sti ecu to run single turbo. Why is this? As your not changing much to do with the engine it self only the turbos are going from 2 to 1 but there is still the same amount of 02 sensors and the engine will still see boost the same etc.

Whats the reason for this?

Is there anything that I might have missed that I probably should know when doing this conversion?

main reason for STI ECU is to ditch the twin turbo Black Box of Doom (BBoD) and the valley of death.. plus being you get waay better power deilvery from the single turbo configuration

if you have a complete WRX engine to drop in you are home and hosed, get an STI ECU (1s or 6s) and youll be sweet

do the TT to ST conversion you wont regret it!

So if I use a wrx 95 ej20 engine with td05 and then put my gtb yellow injectors in it then get a sti ecu it will run sweet as?

Sorry if thats a stupid question..Am new to subarus. Is there anyway I can get away with using my stock gtb ecu and just blocking off some of the vac ports etc BBoD (I assume thats what you mean by bbod :P)

Reason im doing this conversion is I got a gtb with a fucked engine for 1.1k off a mate with the chassis being in mine condition so looked like a good daily/trip car. So am def going with a wrx engine.

no thats a valid question, yes you can use the yellows and the orange AFM off your GTB.

I wudnt even d1ck around with trying to get that TT sh1t to work, if you get the WRX engine just make sure it has a 100% complete manifold and if not try... get one off TM or here.

remember a WRX engien (non STI) wont have forged internals so a 1s ECU would be better for you, a 6s is a proper STI ECU but is ofcourse made for forged internals. SO just be aware of that.

ppl on here have used 6s ECUs on non forged internals and had no big issues, a 1s ECU is slighly less agressive tune

Which is a just a standard v3 wrx ecu and that 6s is the v3 sti ecu.

Thanks for your help, Will be picking up a wrx 95 engine this weekend now :D

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
