WHY AM I LEAKING OIL FROM THE CATCH CAN??

Hi Guys n Gals, just plummed in the wastegate now I'm leaking oil out of the catch can when I put my foot down, its actually pissin out.....any help would be much appreciated as this is my first subbie and I'm mcluvin it.

P.S I've got an RS Legacy 1989 300hp.

Got the lines plumbed to the correct sides and check the bleed screw is done up if it has one. Some have a screw to empty it

the lines going to the catch can pressurise the can - any build up of oil will just be fired out

my car starts to stutter at give-way's when my catch can is full, its pumping the sludge straight into the intake

does it by chance have a v7+ block in it with the extra breather hole?

try searching PCV system, have a read up on how its set up from factory and how to correctly plumb in a catch can or a proper air/oil seperator

if u got a catch can and its blowing excessive oil in then chances are the rings are stuffed and the crank case is being pressurised and blowing oil out the breathers -

You haven't hooked up the oil return line instead of breather by mistake?

Id start simple. Especially if it runs ok. Check see if hooked up right.

Thanks guys, will do a compression test tomorrow to see if it is the rings...I dont know if its hooked up right but will find out. I'll take it back to the mechanics that plumbed the wastegate...gotta feeling they might have thrashed it.

Its not a V7 its a V3 engine.

Surely youd know if the rings were toast ie lack of performance and plenty of blue smoke.

Id be checking its hooked up right as suggested.
