bov leak, causes missing ???

TRICKS

Recommended Posts

I have a dragr bov on a BG5 GTB legacy ... after fixing the exhaust leak and rocker cover leak and the bearing / steer rack getting it all legal to drive I noticed its missing while driving it... I gave it to a local mechanic now they tell me the problem is my bov, that its leaking etc etc

The dragr bov seems to be sucking in air through trumpets which will stick to my hands and at times would not, im looking now to either re plumb the bov back into the OEM factory setup or will buy a HKS bov (legit one as they don't leak)

thought I'd throw this out there to get some feed back on the topic

Wouldn't think it would miss fire as its nothing to do with the spark - but if it was open under vac conditions it will be sucking air causing it to run lean which will run rough and weak and surge - and on boost it will leak and cause it to run rich

Does it leak under vac ? Probably the piston getting a bit stuck - can probably pull apart and clean the piston and bore and give alight lube and it might be all right

I pulled the bov apart and gave it a clean .. I seem to think they the garage hooked up the bbod lines wrong because it never did this before I took it to them, I will get the guys at highbrook auto, take a look at it, so will snail trail it there on Monday.. was going to check the BBOD lines see if there some a miss

found that the garage never reinstalled the top mount properly the plastic parts to the inter-cooler and turbos were not sitting in there properly, found bolts missing to the turbo bracket and the straps securing on the throttle body and IC / turbos were loose.

plans to take it to Highbrook auto on Monday, have them re-check it.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
