How much will head gaskets cost to do?

I've had overheating problems with my car and after lots of to-ing and fro-ing with my mechanic including a new radiator, it looks like the problem is leaning towards an issue with the head gaskets but he won't be sure until he can test on Monday.

How much will it cost to get these done??

Depends on how the engine was treated. If its over heated a fair bit then you'll of warped either the heads or the block. That means it has to come out and be machined if it is within tollarances.

When mine started over heating due to. Soft head I ended up just getting a second hand engine installed. That was about 1100 iirc

about 150 for genuine head gaskets, 120 for new head studs, a few hundred to get the heads skimmed plus removal of engine and refitting could easily go over $1000 depending on your mechanics hourly rate

Now that I'm actually doing it, It's $1800 for parts, labour as well as cambelt and water pump
