Yes, AKA retarded timing. Because of the sharp edges one must run quite retarded timing to prevent the combustion chamber heating up and then the hotspots causing pre-ignition. It's not good.

Eh? EFI engines do not run fixed timing. In short, you're going to need an aftermarket ECU to run this. But if you want any real power get the heads sorted so that they're not going to have to pull a tonne of timing to stop it misbehaving.

Have a read of vosadrians build thread on rexnet.com.au no need to deshroud the heads with a good tune you'll be fine if you dont push it too hard

no need to push a 2.5 hard, my track car has a 2.5cdb with deshrouded heads so thats the 1 I want to push reasonably hard, would like to have both at track day but dont think track car be finished by then but Im trying too have it finished.lol

only turbos your going to get bolt straight on are going to run out of puff - better to go wih a 20g (not a chinese one as theyre shit) - give your standard td05 to mr murch and get him to work his magic
