So I started my car this morning and it was idling to high and then hunting up an down as if the airflow meter was stuffed.

i took the car to autotech in Christchurch to get the fault codes checked and they came up with 63 and 29 which were not in there system.

so another fun surging an cutting out drive to Rick Armstrong and got it plugged in there and still got faults 63 and 29.

fault 63 - Relief Valve Control Solenoid

and

29 - Cam pos no 2.

the guy said he hadnt seen those faults before and is going to give me a call later when he fines out more info.

Has anyone had a similar problem?? ??? ???

it a 1996 v3 sti impreza with standard everything but k&n pod filter and vf24 turbo.

yea they cleared the codes and took it for a drive before going to Rick Armstrong.

he plugged the box thingy in a checked everything again and still same codes

Well the recommenced procedure is to start checking those two components as per the manual, but...

years of experiance tell me that those two things both starting together probably means they have something in common, and I don't think it is going to be electrical.

Because it's simple, and cheap, and could cause both codes, I'd check your cam timing first. Just pull the cam covers off and check that the marks line up.

If that's ok, check for bad earths and do the component tests as per the manual.

yea the lines match up perfect.

the car has been boost spiking to 25 psi when in cold weather for bout 6 months but codes only popped up today after it started surging and cutting out.

got new clamps on battery last month

so it could be air flow meter and relief valve?

Scope the cam sensor output at the ecu pin, and scope the battery voltage

Have seen interference from the battery!! caused by alternator recifier failure (esp if you usung gell cell type) transfering into the cam sensor line

Had cam and tps logging on a car earlier this year ( was due to the aletrnator and fitted std lead acid battery all good !!

Yes this took some hours to find !!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
