WRX dropping power at 5-5500 rpm?

Just bought a new wrx, was originally a v3 automatic but has just been converted with a v4 Type R motor and gearbox.

It still has the auto ecu, but I couldn\'t see that causing the hesitation and lack of power at 5k?

Any clues? The speed sensor is up the s**t, seen on a few other forums it can cause problems.. can any one clarify this?

Speed sensor sounds like good place to start. Followed by ignition and earths.

I\'d also start with converting it to manual PROPERLY. That sounds like more of the culprit than a speed sensor. Speed sensor just wouldn\'t give you a speedo reading?

That is very likely the reason I\'ve got an rs fuel pump you can have for 20buks if you want.

Haha thanks but nah it\'s alright, it wa a relay that stopped it. Stupid alarm. Anyway went to reloom it today with all the sti shit and the body loom plugs are different, fml

Assuming your car is in your avatar. I\'m surprised they are different. The loom off the same shape Sti?

Nah, that\'s my old wagon. This is a sedan I\'m working on now, believe its version 2 judging by its chassis code of GC8B##### etc?
