mashing and mixing harnesses question

Oscar

Okay. Right now my TS is electrically a 3 plug N/A car. 3 pin TPS, 4 pin MAF, wasted spark, etc. For my project I want to use the bulkhead harness in the engine bay and the bulkhead harness in the cabin and the engine harness from a 4 plug WRX wiring but retain the dash, rear harness and front engine bay harness from the TS. I\'ll add pictures of the harnesses I wish to replace.

This one...

and this one

The question is, how compatible are they going to be with the dash, front engine bay and rear harnesses from the Legacy?

PS, I know I\'m an idiot and/or a fool for still undertaking this and I know it will be probably less hassle to get a WRX/BC5/single conversion/3 plug turbo so on and so forth. But I have an ECU with a chip that has "Group N" written on it and I\'ll be damned if I don\'t get to try it out.

TL;DR converting a 3 plug N/A Legacy into a 4 plug single turbo by replacing cabin/engine bay bulkhead harness and engine harness.

With an educated guess, I\'d say you\'re opening a big scary can of worms that just really won\'t be worth it.

Subaru have a habit of using the same plugs, but swapping absolutely everything around, so at the least the plugs may be compatible but the wires will all need to come out and be swapped around.

Your best bet would be to use the four ECU plugs and mix and match them into the internal loom in place of the 3-plugs.

Then do the same to adapt a single turbo engine loom to the main harness, adding in all the extra wires that would be required.

But then when it\'s all done six months of swearing later, you still need to get the whole conversion certified and fit hoops to the driveshaft because the LVVTA think that it will now pole vault itself off the road....

GTB\'s are cheap to find and they go better than an early model with a Group N chip anyway. Unless you buy a BC5 and or early WRX RA and put your ECU in.

And just to re-iterate, this would be a massive headache. Bigger pain in the a** than having one of the Kim Jong family running your country.

Even modifying a 4-plug TT Legacy to run a 4-plug single turbo ECU is a big enough pain in the a** to not be worth attempting.

Right now I don\'t think certification is a priority...

It would also be the least of your worries :P

Titian, the hoops are a requirement that a few people have run into with power increases recently. But with any non turbo to turbo conversion they are compulsory. I think its i huge crock of sh## to be blatantly honest :)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
