P2011 Tumble Generator Valve DTC

Hey all

Anyone had this code before?

P201 Tumble Generator Valve signal 2 Circuit Malfunction (open)

Car is a 03 BP Turbo.

Apparently alot of the Imprezas have them as well.

Searching the net shows that most people buy a delete kit or remove the flappers them self and match port the manifold.

What have people on here done and how do I keep the code clear?

Actually scratch that....the Jap/kiwi ones don\'t have it (need to stop reading US forums).

So....why would my car be throwing that code???

after calling Wingers and asking apparently they do have a TGV valve in the manifold somewhere....any one done anything to this?

it should not be throwing that code. nz new and jap imports dont have them.

unless you have a uk or us market bp5 legacy.

recheck your codes again.

Not in Auckland Subirex...in Hamilton.

Have had it on a code scanner. Code clears and then comes back. Turning the car off and on again will clear the code but it comes back after normal driving.

I think the WRX ones are a bit different....My car has the alloy manifolds between the plastic intake manifold and the heads. No sign of a stepper motor on either end where the butterfly shaft would be as per pictures I have seen of USA market models.

Person I spoke to at Wingers said there is one in the manifold somewhere?

Does anyone have a digital manual for this model??

If you didn\'t have tgvs, the codes would have been disabled from factory.

Anyone else have any idea about this??? My manifolds dont look any thing like any TGV ones showing on the net...the manuals Disruptz sent through dont show TGV on them....guessing OZ/Jap spec.

i only have manuals for jap import and nz new. tried searching for that code in those manual but its not there.

if there is a TGV in yours than there should be a sensor (looks like a TPS sensor)

on each side of that aluminium manifold.

by the way that aluminium manifold is in all bp turbos but without that TGV.

I went and had a look at some cars a SubWrex in Hamilton.

There is a WRX in there with the TGV but none of the Legacys have it and mine looks nothing like the WRX that does have it.

Both ends of the aluminium manifold are just blanked off as per the better picture.

Could someone have changed the computer or something??

History of the car is I have only owned it approx 2 months and 1 of those it was in the panel shop while I was overseas...Been driving it for 3 weeks now with no CEL only for it to come on on the way home from Rotorua on sat.

yap your one does not have a TGV. pm me your chasiss number and i will confirm to you the original ecu number and you can cross check it with your ecu number.

Thats what came up on the scan tool.

After having the codes scanned at Wingers today it came up with Front 02 sensor failed.....so lesson to be learned is don\'t always trust the generic code scanners!
