DCCD issues Stuffed Center Diff?

Hey guys,

I recently installed a H/D puk clutch on my type R, it was a bad call. I was changing down to some lights and accidentally changed into to low a gear, a huge jolt went through the car when the clutch bit.

I was running with the controller to the rear and was able to baby it to where I could diagnose it more. Now it drives with the controller to the rear, but when its right up to full lock it spits the dummy and crunches about.

I have pulled the box apart and inspected the front part of the case and there doesn\'t seem to be any chips or obstructions, so does this sound like a buggered center diff?

first off the controller/diff doesn\'t do front or rear . it mechanically does a torque split of 65;35 . and electronically can lock up to 50;50

what did you find in the front section of the box ? the front diff? the centre diff is in the very rear section of the gear box . the bit you pull off before you can split the main box

does the gear set look fine ? and the front diff ? have you checked all your CV\'s ?

i doubt the centre diff is causing noises as there should be no speed difference across it . to make a speed difference across it youd need a snapped cv etc

just a few thoughts .

Thanks for the input! The gearbox internals look fine so now im going to check the CVs, should of probably done that first haha. Oh well now I know what the inside of the gearbox looks like!
