Legacy B4 Tiptronic Issue

Hi everyone, I tried to see if this had already been posted but could not find it.

I have a 2000 RSK (BE5) with Tiptronic gear box that is developing an issue once warm. After driving a couple of KM\'s, the gearbox seems to partially slip out and go down to a lower gear. It holds in this gear and if you try and shift it higher with the tiptronic it thumps in quite harshly.

Additionally, when this happens there seems to be a whinning noise coming from the rear, and the car decelerates very quickly once you take your foot off the gas. I have tried stopping the car, putting it into park and turning it off. This does make problem go away, but I need to get this looked at. Last night, the "power" light began flashing for a couple of seconds then stopped.

Car has only done 53,000kms so I am at a loss to figure out what it could be. Any help would be great.

First thing to do is give the trans a flush and new filter, with the triptronics make sure you use the correct rated fluid as they are very picky and can cause all sorts of nasty issues.

The power light flashing indicates an issue with the trans or TCU.

My trans is also always really lumpy and horrible to drive although it has done 280k which I put down just to being worn.

If you find out what it is causing yours id be interested to know.

My box also works much better when the fluid is cold and gets crappy once warmed up.

If you\'re in CHCH I\'ve got a spare TCU if you want to test it.

Harsh Thumping ? one thing i know that can cause that is the TPS

unplug it and see if it alters anything usually if its unplugged the power Led flashes ,

And you get that harsh thumping when shifting gears.

If it aint that Maybe one of the solenoids in the trans is fualty

yeah it runs without it well has a rough idle but, unplug the TPS , put the car in second push the snow/Hold button , and drive down the road may have to reset ECU afterwards if CEL is on , only a suggestion Btw

Another thing to try if you think its slipping in the trans , do the stall tests , use the Snow/hold button , handbrake on and foot on the brake , and accelertate , think 2600rpm is what it stops at ,

dont do this test fr more than a few seconds and let the trans cool after each Gear test

If that makes sense to any one other than me , good on ya

I still haven\'t got my hands on a new TPS yet but hoping I might this week.

I had a chat with some auto trans techs and they said they have found a couple of cars of my year model etc which has had a loose ground in the oil pan which has caused these issues.

First I will try a new TPS followed by a trans additive and then getting them to check the earth if all else fails.

Thanks guys for all the help. I have now had it in at Armstrong\'s in Welly and they can\'t find the fault.

It only seems to happen at random times and typically never seems to happen while at the mechanics

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
