Catback Exhaust on BH Legacy

Hi guys are just thingking about changing to a catback exhaust on my 01 E-tune, I have three questions;

1. Will I have overboosting/spike issues?

2. Will it change the tone of the exhaust?

3. is it actually legal?

Just to go back to my old topic, how would I go about changing to a catback system?

* go into an exhaust shop and cut them out and get straight bits in place

* or go online and buy a system - I definitely dont want the car louder

also will I still get the Subaru rumble? - this is for my 2001 Legacy GT E-tune

A catback is leaving the cats in and replacing the pipe after the cats. I think your talking about decatting or cutting the cats out???

Yes you may get boost spikes and need a tune, I recently de-catted my primary downpipe and got boost spikes. Sound is deeper, more throb.

Edit: If your just after a bit of rumble with minimum changes, \'Axle back\' or tail/rear section might be what your after? OEM, BH5/STI Genome, BH5/Apexi World Sport 2, BH5

Both after markets I got for $275 each second hand, all 3 have a completely different sound/noise level.

Thanks for that I was really thinking of taking the cats out for more power - it already has a good rumble but if I will get boost spikes and have to tune it I may not worry.

The car already runs great, has run 1 bar of boost solidly since I bought it a year ago and has had no boost issues at all

Sweet, 01 E-tune is that a rev D or rev E? Just an ECU reflash will give you some good gains with no trouble.

Just an \'axle back\' bolt on system will give you that deep boxer rumble with no future hassles.

I\'ve also got an \'01 E-Tune and put an \'axle back\' Kakimoto R straight bolt on. Deep boxer rumble at idle and low revs, out on high way or anything over 50km/hr you can\'t hear it.

Perfect if you\'r not wanting drone or to attract too much attention.

This was my second choice! Although, I have to admit I love that \'chambered\' muffler look that the Kakimoto R has.

checkout http://www.subaruspeed.co.nz/ they have a few Exhuasts on there, i picked one on there for $80 which has a 5inch tip only just fits under bumper but looks pretty phat!
