Amateur Diagnosis wanted (Wheelbearing???)

Had an issue last night after a semi long trip of about an hour town to town.

Pulled into a parking lot and felt like the front left wheel locked up. Brake rotors and pads seems fine.

When I first pulled into the park I thought the whole bloody suspension setup had failed, it made a god awful racket, it sounded like metal grinding on metal and the car shuddered violently.

After pushing it out of the park I realised it was rolling pretty freely and no noises now. I Drove the k home very slowly and nervously no further issues.

However today backing the car down the drive there is still a noise. From in the car it sounds like a rubbing in the fornt hub. Havent had a chance to jack it up yet and get a good look.

Any common fault this could be? I thought maybe wheel bearing as it fits what I have heard others say about them but I have never had one go on me. Or CV joint crossed my mind also but the only one I ever had issue with on my Famila clicked long before it went and I replaced it when it was clicky so I dont know what happens when they fully fail.

I will probably take this to a mechanic anyway as im stuck for time to look at it and never worked on anything suspension or hub wise on the WRX. Too scared. But if anyone wants to amatuer diagnose would be much appreciated.
