BP5 roof rack options

After a cheapish option as it won't get used much at all. Just want to tie some bags and packs to it.

What's out there?

I bought the Pro Rack P-Bars. Definitely the cheapest model made by Pro Rack and they are great. Main use is for kayaks.

The best thing about them is that you can buy different fitting kits for different vehicles so theoretically only costing $60-$70

if you buy a new car instead of tracking down a whole new set of bars.

I haven't looked at a lot of other options though so pretty limited knowledge otherwise.

so what are the mounts o a bp5 called exactly?

K325 is the model number iirc. They also fit the SG9 Forester which I had them on prior to that. The mounts come with a few bits to allow for different variation on a few vehicles.

they will be noisy as on the highway mate, I have Prorack Whispbars on mine and they look awesome and are totally silent at any speed. worth the bit extra I reckon when Supercheap has a sale.

^^ Haven't tried the Whispbars as they were a bit out of my price range at the time and couldn't really justify the extra expense.

But I will agree that the P-Bars (P15 bar model for us I think....) are quite noisy. I have mine on permanently as they bolt on to the BP

and around town they are sweet but on the open road you know they are there, not a real nuisance unless you like 100% silence.

although the flush bars look cleaner, I'd reccommend the through-bar type as its easier to tie rope or bungee cords around the ends of the bars.

you wont regret spending the extra. and you can add accessories that fit into the channels like kayak holders, bike racks, eye bolts etc

+1 for the Whispbars, far more superior to P-bars. Rola will be the next on my list. Thule are way overpriced for what they are (Euro coolness).

P bars are just way too square for BL/BP (if you care about overall appearance that is).
