EJ20X turbo problem

Hi all, driving home the other night, heard a strange noise coming from up front. Turned music down and heard nothing, then while accelerating, a sort of whine happened, quite loud, only on acceleration. There was no power from turbo, but car seemed ok and drove fine otherwise. Suspected auto at fault but seemed smooth and tiptronic was fine.

 

Once again, under acceleration there was a loud whine, and no power from turbo.

 

I thought I may have blown the turbo, but no smoke at all, and wondering if it may be bearing whine from the turbo. I took it into a garage, he wasn't sure but will look at it tomorrow and try locate the noise and let me know how much I'm gonna have to spend. It needs two wheel bearings done as well so will get that done at the same time.

 

Any suggestions as to what this could be?

Its got a VF38 turbo so probably a semi blocked banjo filter which has restricted oil flow to the turbo and cooked it.
