I just brought a 94 ej20tt wagon with a screwd clutch.... and trying to be cheap me and a friend decided to replace the clutch ourselves.... good in theory bad in reality.

After listening to a friend who said its easier to remove the engine to replace the clutch we spent 2 days trying to remove the engine we gave up one that and went down to removing the box and things got a bit better.

Got the drive shaft disconnected, disconnected the exhaust at the flange and took it of the flange on the secondry turbo and low and behold the primary turbo doesn't have a flange spent 2 days trying to remove th damn turbo broke 3 bolts.

so now my scooby is in pieces and my mate wants his shed back,

really wasn't a good idea to try it myself.... we learn the hard way

No pics yet... Its going on a transporter on Thursday to go to workshop so they can fix my stuff up and ill take sum pics then.

and i know if i keep going ill just stuff it more beyond repair, I know exactly what i need to do its just not possible for me to do

i jst need to get that exhaust of unbolt the box drop it down and im sweet but that ****** turbo wont come of

Normally you leave the turbo on the engine and just pull the downpipe off.

Lots of CRC helps too.

normally doesn't apply to my car there is no flange it goes turbo - cat- downpipe then flange where it meets the secon exhaust behind the box

Aye?? If the downpipe doesn't come off you can't get the turbo off cos the downpipe blocks 2 bolts.

similar for TTs, engine or gearbox dosent come out until the big pin on the side of the gear box is pulled out, this is the pin that the fork pivots on.

hmmm lol i was going to remove gearbox tomorrow and do clutch ;D maybe later now
