V1-V2 GC8 ECU

Hey there, I've got a 1995 Subaru WRX STI with some mods. I've recently purchased a Link ECU online, unaware of the mapping but will be mapped and tuned to suit my build. It's been plugged in and car won't run. Previous owner said it ran in a V1-V2 wrx. It's a Possum Bourne Link WRXROADR ECU but it has K7 as the ECU type on the casing which I can't find any info on (was previously running a chipped Z4 ecu). It's a 4 pin connector and plugs in fine but the connectors are grey whereas the other 4 pin ECU's I have are yellow connectors. Maybe just needs to go to a link specialist to map it to suit? Any advice is appreciated, cheers

Plugging in a random ECU with an unknown tune and turning the key is a kinda terrible idea and it is 0% surprising that the car won't run with it. If the ECU was mapped for, say, a race car with 2000cc injectors and you're running stock 440s or something it's never going to run.

I'd start by flashing a base map (if you can find a computer with a version of PCLink that will still talk to a PossumLink).

 

Actually, no. I'd start by putting the PossumLink in a museum and installing an ECU from this millennium so your tuner doesn't hate you.
