Coilovers for legacy help

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Looking to get some coilovers for my blitzen sedan. I'm pretty much oblivious when it comes to anything suspension but I'm very keen to learn, so much that I want to install them myself, even if it takes me a week. The 'learning' about my car is a biggy for me but I'm prepared to pay the money to have a professional do the job if that's what's recommended by the members here. If installing them myself is not a huge mission, are there any instructions or manuals on here that might help?

Also, I've been pricing up some D2, Tein and Bilstein coilovers. Any thoughts/opinions on these? D2's are more realistic for me in terms of price ($1650) All I'm wanting to do is firm up the ride and improve handling to a reasonably high standard without emptying my wallet. Maybe springs with my current bilsteins is the best option? I'm not wanting to take my car to the track or anything. Does the blitzen come standard with bilsteins?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Dont get d2s meant to be crap and prob worse than what you got factory..

Price up BC Gold through redline performance..They are meant to be good for the money you pay (similar price to d2)

You can install your self its a pretty straightforward and easy process.

If you jack up your car and take the wheel off youl be able to see yourslef just how easy it is.

Remember youl need a cert for adjustables

Thanks! I'll take a look at redline performance.

Do you recommend I do a strut brace at the same time?

Yup fully aware of the cert. Recommend VTNZ for this?

My car has done 133k.. If I go for springs, do you think its worth getting the factory bilsteins rebuilt first? Guys at the shock shop said it'd cost a few hundred.

Hey guys, while we're on the topic of coilovers I need a recommendation for what type with the difference being they'll go into 1996 BD9 Legacy and I need them to be ok for hill climbing and occasional track use. My baby is my daily runner but the KYBs are a bit farkid. Any help and pricing would be awesome ;D

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
