Short shifter kit for BC

Hey guys,

Im looking for a short shifter kit for my BC legacy...Have found this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Subaru/Gear-boxes/auction-252425282.htm ...

Is there anything to stop this fitting my car? The gearboxes are mostly interchangable so Im guessing it'll fit?

The linkage is slightly different between BG and BH. I think BC and BG are the same but id get someone to confirm that before you buy it.

I know the bc/bf and V1 and 2 wrx you need to re-use the factory bit of plastic that the pivot ball sits in, this is for the GFB short shift kit and may not reflect the kit in the link above, but maybe something to think about.

Yeah with the GFB kit the pivot ball for the BH is smaller than the pivot ball on the BG so they dont interchange. Also the linkage on a BG has a small kink in it and doesnt come straight onto the shifter, whereas the linkage on a BH is straight.

Also shifters across different models are different lengths

Unless you transplant the complete linkage over from a Gen2 Legacy or GC8/GF8 and buy the applied short shifter; Then no you cannot buy an off the shelf kit for the Gen 1 Legacy.

GFB make a short shifter kit that requires a couple of small modification to fit.

If you pull away the rubber shifter boot and look and where the linkage connect to the shifter, that is your main point of difference.
