Remap

im looking at the same sort of thing and have gotten 2 types of vies from different tuners:

some say do the walbro 500hp fuel pump and wire in a relay to hold full voltage to it

and speed source say to use the factory wiring and no need to change the wires just the pump (apperently their 10 sec sti ran factory wiring to the pump)

GCP say the same as well - just need to put in a walbro and no need to rewire the pmmp

and then other ones i spoke to say even with factory setup (no mods just reflash they got like 40 odd kw increases) - damm :o

anyway, what are ur thoughts people -

the mods i have are:

3 inch turbo back exhaust

walbro 500hp pump

(to rewire or not??)

and retune

expecting 220 kw at wheels - thats what all the tuners think i will be about as most v7 have it to that level with same mods

what are the places u would recomend for me being in auckland? (good price too hopefully)

Pappu just wire the pump its f all extra to do and it does make a difference..

Been talking ot people in the buisness who have dynoed with factory pump and made x amount of power and thought fuel was maxing out.

Wired a relayh in and got quite a bit extra out of it.

I did it as my car wasnt getting enough fuel same scenario...Rewired and made a difference.

An extra volt can make a big difference in terms of what the pump can flow

hey bro i agree with u but the tuners (big name places) keep saying the factory controller is good enough to use especially with the factory ecu... ???

and the sped source 10 sec sti - think was like 350kw engine setup - they reakin factory wiring and controller... i mean that 10 sec was not just some dyno queen if u know what i mean ay bro... confuses the hell outta me to be honest :-\

yeah they may ahve been using it sure ...

But it is common sense the more voltage it gets the more its going to flow..Probably not going to be a problem till you pushing it hard but when you getting a retune this is where its going to matter you want more fuel to make more power.

BEtter to be safe than sorry

You dont want to get on the dyno and find your fuel pumps not getting enough voltage which i found and have to pay for a 2nd retune for the sake of a $20 relay do you???

And iv been told by tuners big name places also and they recommend to do this.

ended up not getting done for two reasons

1. They were flat out tuning another sti....

2. Couldnt talk with the software to the car..until 330pm so it was abit late in the day

Back again and im first on the dyno tmw, luckily i picked up and installed a sti TMIC tonight.... see if makes any difference :)

Roll on tmw

hmmm i guess i will go down the rewire route..

just unsure why the tuners saying not to rewire...dam >:(

m thinking of making it switchable between full wired to battery and factory setup (for situations where i dont want the whine in the car lol)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
