Heater Control (Dimmer button)

Hey guys, got a question about the heater control panels in the B4 Legacys.

The earlier models (98-01) did they have different heater control panels to the facelift (02) model?

This is what i have:

I have seen a few with a "dimmer" switch on them below the temp selector. Do they increase the brightness behind the display when the headlight are on?

Also anyone got a scan of Owners manual for this thing?

Yup, turn on the AC and the lights. Push and hold the OFF button until it beeps, about 3 secs. This works on all 3 gen 3's I've tried today.

The 4th car I tried it on didn't work, so it may not be all of them.

does this work on bg5's or nah cause they're really dim especially when driving during the day with lights on like in rain or really sunny situations (switch on to be seen lol) and rather annoying to see
